BAAN BUA COTTAGE Cafe' & Stay — Hotel in Ko Kut

I stayed for 3 nights in Nov 2024 ||Pros: |-wifi was okay, usable for normal use. mobile speed tested at 12.7 mbps (download) and 23.5mbps (upload) |-breakfast was good with several choices. |-staff were very friendly and great. |-bathroom was good, spacious. There is a water stream like a creek behind the bathroom and it sounded like a small waterfall everytime you entered the bathroom. Peaceful, tranquil. |-tissue box provided in room. |-they provided a beach mat and bag for you in the room that you could take to the beach with you|-there's a hose outside the room where you can clean your legs of any sand|-aircon is good|-mini fridge and safe in the room|-property is well lit at night |-they provide pyjamas to wear at night|-small and cosy hotel |-hot water lasts and lasts ||Cons: |-it's not a beachfront property, so location wise it's a little out of the way but you can rent motorbikes from the hotel. |-The beach that is within walking distance to the hotel has rubbish floating around because it's in a local village. So i wouldn't recommend that beach. I'm talking about Klong Mad and the beach in front of say Koh Kood beach resort. Other than that beach and Ao Taphao beach, which i wouldn't recommend. Every other beach is amazing on Koh Kood. |-no swimming pool at the property. |-doona/quilt is two separate pieces for the queen bed and not one big piece. Maybe that is a pro for some? |-no rack outside to dry the clothes or bathing wear. ||Overall...

Overall...

Agoda sold out of rooms with one big bed so we called to make a reservation and they happily accommodated us. Upon arriving at the hotel they have a water machine to refill your bottles if needed. Not forcing us to buy plastic water bottles or even suggesting such a thing.

The room was pretty basic but had a very comfortable bed and the bathroom has a nice jungle feel to it. The overall vibe on the property is nice and relaxing. Very eco-touristy feeling.

The breakfast that is included is pretty good. I think there’s a different chef in the morning and in the evening, we tried our luck for dinner and were pleasantly surprised! Both my meal and my girlfriends were quite delicious. They also had no problem with us bringing a bottle of wine to the table. They provided us nice wine glasses and a wine key as well. In stark contrast to most places on the island, the food comes out very quick and their coffee is actually not too bad. They except Visa if you’re like me and prefer to pay for things with credit and they don’t charge that silly 3% thing that a lot of stores in Thailand do. My only recommendation might be using paper straws but otherwise, the hotel is very well run and lovely for the price. I...
