S-beach Resort — Hotel in Ko Kut

We stayed here 2 nights. |First of all when we went to do our check in the lady (which I think was the boss) tryed to sell us another room on a special price(1800 bht).We were not interested in that moment, we just want to leave our luggages in the room and explore the island. |The standard room with sea view(room 31) was very small, we did not have spave for our two luggages. The smell of the room was awful. The air conditioning was broken. |So, we went and asked if it is possible to receive other room. |The lady boss from the reception was thinking a little bit and gived us 3 options of rooms.We decided to take room A45. ||While we opened our things I have seen another two couples which have changed their room.In just 2 hours, 6 people changed their rooms!||Much bigger,no disgusting smell but the bathroom was very dirty. Beds were very uncomfortable also. |Anyway,we did not have a better choice.|In the morning we were wake up at 5 am by somebody who was trying his speedboat. 15 minutes of hell!!!Second morning was the same.||We rent a scooter for a day (250bht)from the hotel and went to visit the island. We should give it back at 17:00 pm.At 16:30 we went back to the hotel and offer the receptionist 50 bht for 2 hours more. Was expecting an answer"yes,alright" or "no,it is not possible". The lady boss asked my husband why do you want the motorbike 2 hours more???|I was surprised.Really???Why she was curious? In my opinion she is very bored and are too many employees. |Instead buiding others rooms and bungalows they should concentrate on what they have and improve the services in the room.||Breakfast was ordinary.The employees stayed like guardians and watched everybody what is eating.||I do not reccomend the hotel.|The management should changed. The receptionist's attitude needs to be improved definitely. |It is sad because is nice beach there and the surroundings are...

1800Bath room - Very hard beds, not suited for Europeans with shapes (curves or shoulders). Bed linen very hot so remove inner "teppich" to prevent running AC on permanent cool. More like a AC hut with open cleevage in floor boards, door aso which still means mosquitoes inside room (we got about 3-4bites a night). Personell was very friendly though and helped with bags. But the room was maybe worth 800Bath compared to other places we stayed on on Koh Kood. 1800 is more than we payed for a first row deluxe bungalow with fridge, flat screen TV a bit further north (was 1600) or a fresh budget concrete room with balcony and beach 20sec walk away at a big resort also more north. Best thing about S beach is the short distance to JK thai food just next to the hotel on the main road. Also the landscaping is nice with huge grass fields and beach is pretty good with comparingly good snorkeling (parrot fish and some more std fish for Thailand) which we barely saw on the other beaches. Also a small volcabic formation just outside the beach which might be the reason for the sea life (lot of sharp sulfuric rocks and also some wood covered sea bottom a bit out in the sea toward the small island probably built from lava, there was even a small shrine (i think) on the tiny"island" and i actually found two HUGE anchors on the sea bottom somi guess something must have happened with a ship here. Still this is a lot better than neighbouring siam resort which was 2200 for a much less nice room with ants and bust as hard beds, the. We stayed here for 4 nights after spending main part of our holiday in Koh Chang with our 2 kids 7+13 years old. We were looking for relaxation and beach life and that’s what we found. Absolutely stunning location 5 stars and we had the big family bungalow with 20 steps to the beach. It’s beautiful beach with the most clear water you ever see and with great snorkelling of the beach with lots of fish and corrals and also beautiful sunsets. ||The bungalow is simple but clean and with brand new bathroom. 4 big beds divided in to 2 rooms but the hardest beds I ever slept in so not great if you have a bad back! ||We had a great breakfast and stayed for lunch here too. Lovely head waitress very sweet and friendly.||It’s a shame they don’t do more to get guests to stay and eat at the restaurant.It’s very empty in the evenings and it’s difficult to get around island if you don’t have a moped. Shame as it’s just the best spot! They also just serve beer and I suppose some people like a cocktail in the evening. ||We walked to the next beach where more restaurants and bars are located Ca 20 min. still very low key and lovely.||Just to mention when we arrived the manager lady had double booked our bungalow and wasn’t that apologetic about so we had no choice but to take 2 smaller bungalows and split up the family. ||We had a lovely stay and would...
