Rann Chalet Beach Side — Hotel in Ko Lanta Yai

Knew we were in trouble as we entered the property as is run down and untidy.|We had booked 5 nights 'Superior' queen chalet. It was nothing better than a very small shack without a queen size bed. Firstly standing room only inside. Bed mattress only 4" thick and no padding, all springs. Mosquito net with holes in. No ceiling fan as advertised just a decrepit desk fan. Walls with so many holes in for mosquitos to get in. No way to lock door when inside - padlock only on outside of door. Didn't even go into bathroom area but suspect drained to ground only to encourage more mosquitoes in the evening (plenty around at midday before we left). |Outside, small seating area but the only cushion was filthy. The chalets are behind the kitchen and in amongst stacks of old boxes, hanging laundry, etc. |This property is right by the main road and very noisy. Apparently a karaoke nearby but we didn't stay.|This property is over priced whatever the charge and there are much nicer places along the beach. We lost 5 nights non-refundable and found another place a few £'s a night more per night with nice room, restaurant, pool, beach front, breakfast included etc.|My advice? Read this review and take it seriously and don't whinge later if you ignore it. We've travelled for 4 months around SE Asia and this is the worst...

Very cool experience staying here, but i woulnd’t recommend it for longer stays, max 2-3 nights. Bungalow is very small, so if you’re two people with a lot of luggage, it will be hard to fit inside. It can also get hot, since ofc there is no aircon, just a fan. Water in the shower is cool but not freezing cold, which didn’t bother me since it was very hot outside. Beach is nice with very little people and food in restaurant is good, but breakfast isn’t included in the price anymore. There can be some bugs, mosquitos and geckos inside, but there is mosquito net over bed so you’ll be safe. All in all, being adventurous nature type, i enjoyed very much staying here, but if you’re not like me, maybe look for...

Beautiful huts. If you're looking for max comfort and AC not the place, but if you're looking for an authentic genuine beach hut stay this is the perfect place. Exactly what we were looking for. Awesome people and awesome food. I think its a family run place but even when they closed for an afternoon they still helped us with everything. Perfect location right on the beach and right on the main road. Tons of other restaurants, bars, 7-11 within a short walk. Rented a scooter from them and cruised the entire coast. Only cons is chalet is small and not sealed up, sleep with a mosquito net but we never had any issues sleeping with either noise or insects. You need to experience this if staying in...
