We stayed at this hotel for 12 days; I only wished I’d committed to less days!||The hotels location is really good, only a short 5 minute walk to the beach. Yes the hotel looks nice from outside; however as the reviews title suggests! ||As previous reviews have stated, the hotel is woefully shabby & tired, It could be a really good hotel if the owners modernised & tidied the whole hotel including the swimming pool.||||The rooms – Ours was over the reception area; both subject to the noise & disruptions with the coming and going of clients. I asked to move a number of times. The options were - to pay 300 THB per night or move to their sister hotel. The room we were offered at the sister hotel was an insult, on a noisy corridor & in a dark corner plot and the kids were using the area as a play park! It beggars belief the poor understanding of the staff, this hotel was barely 25% occupied so why not consider your customers needs? Our room smelt musty as we reentered & put the so called air conditioning unit on, we had to open the balcony doors (to more noise!) to freshen up. When we returned in the evening I had to go on cockroach duties! I did ask reception to sort the issue out, only for them to spray the bathroom, it only did the job for one day! I did however cover both drains & put the plug in the sink which in the main worked. But the little ants remained throughout our stay. To be fair the room maids were good, they did their best to clean the room, change the bedding & towels daily. (Even though the towels were grey from over use). Plus on a good note, we had complementary two bottles of water daily. ||||We did not use the breakfast facilities, we hardly saw anybody in there, I wonder why?||||The pool area was OK, again simply tired. Cracked/chipped tiles, dirty umbrellas & stands. Although the water looked clean, the pumps were never on, but we did see the water tested twice.|||We are giving this hotel a two as there was so much they could have done to make their customers stay more pleasant. The room maids get a four stars as they did a good job with poor resources. ||To finish on a positive note – The hotel did send their minibus to pick us up from the ferry...
Read moreWe were booked in for 4 nights and left after the 1st night. A display on bed as a congratulations for my Husband was full of ants from the flowers crawling on the bed.|This is the worst place I have stayed ever. |Bathroom was smelly and thick of mould in the grout and no hot water. After going to reception about the hot water a technician came to room and within seconds this was fixed, some hidden box up in the wardrobe rectified this, I suspect a cost saving exercise by the hotel to not provide hot water. |Dead fly stuck on net curtain. |The bed was like a slab of concrete with 2 joined together and 2 separate quilts. The list of facilities on the hotel's website is incorrect and this is disingenuous. One of a number of examples is that a hotel restaurant was advertised but this was closed with a padlock on the doors. This hotel does not serve any food.|The pool was clean but the surrounding area around the pool was rough pebble dash, with only 12 sunlongers, people were lying on the concrete on a towel. I asked reception if there were more sun loungers available and was told no that was all they had. |There was an electrical 'do not disturb' system which would display outside, none of these in any rooms were in operation and no alternative system was in use, such as a simple door hanger, to avoid being disturbed by housekeeping. We made a sign and stuck it on the door and were still knocked on to move to an upgraded room after we complained, this room was slightly cleaner but smaller than our room with a view of the hotel's reception canopy. We did not move rooms. They said they would do a clean on our room but upon return, the towels were still hanging as we left them; these had not been replaced. The dead fly remained on the curtain and brown stains up wall were still there. |There were screw holes above the bed from where we presume would have been a smoke and carbon monoxide detector. |How this place can call itself a hotel is very...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel for two nights, with our group.||Positives:|The swimming pool is deep, large and clean, the staff is friendly and the beach is only across the road.|They provide separate towels for the pool and complimentary water in the room.|The breakfast buffet is nothing to write home about, but there is enough to get you to start the day.|There is a 7/11 to the left-hand side of the hotel, as you go out, so you can fill that minibar!||Negatives:|It has a bit of a rundown appearance, and the wi-fi is very temperamental, unless you are in a room or by the lobby.|The safe is tiny: I’m not sure a Kindle would fit in it, even if tilted, and certainly not an iPad.|To get to the beach you need to cross the road, which is not always the easiest thing to do. |If you want to get to the pier, where the night market and most eateries are, you will need a taxi/tuk tuk and it costs between 30 to 50 bats per person. On the other hand, you probably want to be by this beach, as opposed by the sea near the pier, which is not that clean.||Positive or Negative - highly subjective this one:|There is a family of monkeys wondering about the perimeter of the hotel and the corridors too, on occasion: they are very entertaining to watch by the poolside, but do not leave your windows open because we watched them infiltrating several rooms, before leaving with food and other shiny trinkets.|||If I had to go back to that location it would not be my first choice, but in case of...
