We opted for a six-night stay at this quaint but dated hotel, drawn by the slightly higher price that included breakfast. The breakfast offerings were generally satisfactory, featuring a variety of options such as eggs, pancakes, croissants, salad, fruits, rice, noodles (on some days), along with quality coffee and juice, served from 7 am to 10 am.
Although the bed was comfortable and the linens and towels were clean, the overall room cleanliness left much to be desired. Upon arrival, we noticed hairs on the furniture, and during our stay, we encountered two cockroaches. Not a problem for us but it might deter other guests. Additionally, a significant gap in the bathroom window's mosquito net rendered it ineffective against mosquitoes, requiring us to improvise a cover, which only led to discovering more dirt.
While daily cleaning services were provided along with complimentary bottles of water, there were inconsistencies in service. On alternate days (due to our own choice), we found ourselves waiting for our room to be cleaned, sometimes being the last to be serviced despite observing housekeepers on our floor earlier. This prompted us to inquire with the owner around 2 pm, leaving us puzzled about task prioritization. Additionally, we found the owner's demeanor slightly condescending, leading us to question if the hotel caters primarily to middle-aged foreigners.
Location is quiet and a short walk away from the nearest 7 Eleven shop. However, dining options nearby are limited and it's a considerable walk to the central Krabi market.
Although the pool was adequately clean, it could benefit from more attention to detail. Furthermore, during breakfast, we observed a lack of professionalism among staff members, such as staff eating toast, appearing more focused on leisurely activities rather than attending to guest needs. Despite the apparent low occupancy, the owner seemed more inclined to promote tours rather than address operational shortcomings.
Overall, our stay was pleasant, but we hope this review offers valuable insights into our experience and provides constructive suggestions for...
Read moreThis hotel is very nice, rooms are spacious and well kept. The staff are incredible, friendly and helpful. The pool is great on a hot day. Free shuttle, free breakfast of good quality food. They rent bikes for only 300 baht per day as well, which is fantastic considering a cab to Ao Nang (closest access to railay, and pra nangh beaches) is 500 one way, your better off renting a bike and ripping around.||However the rooftop bar was not open and was advertised as open, or perhaps not advertised as closed.|The internet access was really spotty and there was almost no hope of streaming something without interuption. The location isnt the greatest either, but with the shuttle and bikes it no problem.||And this last one is not specific to the hotel, more so to thailand as a whole as far as I've found, the pricing you get for ferry rides to anywhere basically, you're gonna be given a different price by almost everyone. We paid 450 a piece, for two people, at the dee andaman hotel, only to find out upon arrival at the pier that it was only 400 for a ticket. Then when we got to ko phi phi it again turns out the tickets cost 350. So do your research before you get burned. But again it's only 100 baht per person, which is really about $10 CAN, so not that bad, but if your like us and taking many ferries and flights, you obviously want the best price, a fair price, and over a long haul you could be spending a few extra hundred by the end of your trip. |It seems that there are some with an alternate agenda and it sucks dealing with them, but not a trip ruiner, just be very sure about all your purchases before...
