Grand PL Hotel — Hotel in Phatthalung Province

A fairly new 6 storey hotel. Rooms are clean and have east west balcony facing direction. Only one front desk staff can speak English in the morning shift. Other shift front desk staff do not speak English. Toilet/bathroom fairly small. On demand water heater is available. Conveniently located near to the train station and the daily night market. Right at the entrance to the hotel driveway is the C C Steak restaurant which serves reasonably priced steak and other dishes. This hotel is recommended. Ample parking space for hotel guests. It is also very close to the morning market and there are 3 coin operated laundry services within 200m to 300m walking distance away. Dim sum restaurants are also nearby. There is a 7 Eleven and a Lotus's supermarket nearby as well. Convenient location if you drive or ride...

Old hotel that needs upgrading.

The location is probably the best part about this hotel. It's in the centre of town, close to many eateries and has covered parking (4 spots) plus open air parking for another 10 or so cars. Rooms are old and in need of renovation: The mattress was uncomfortable. The AC was also quite old, but at least not overly noisy. One notable issue is the persistent odor in the bathroom, reminiscent of sewage. Despite staff attempts to mitigate the scent with room fresheners, the problem persisted, impacting the overall experience. Furthermore, the small size of the bathroom leads to water splashing all over when taking a shower, leaving everything damp. Nothing much to say about this hotel. It delivered against our basic expectations (a clean room with a clean bed and a clean bathroom).|The temperature in the room was at 38° when we checked in and it took a loooong time for the air conditioning to lower it down to an acceptable level.
