Raya Resort is located on the south beach and quiet. It’s a large property and the grounds are like a park. It’s like two different worlds, outside the gates you can join the crowds and come back to the peace and quiet of the resort. The rooms are nicely furnished with lots of storage. There is a separate living room with a door which I greatly appreciated as I am an early riser. The rooms are built so you have an open space area below that has a sink, fan, swing, lounge and 2 other chairs and table and even your own little private front yard with a fountain. The wi-fi also worked downstairs, on the deck and at the pool. They have thought of everything from umbrellas, safety box, slippers, robes, flip flops, bug zapper, hair dryer, drying rack and chairs/umbrella on the beach, plus free mini bar that is usually stocked with pop, water, chips or peanuts. There were plenty of lights and outlets. We had two bikes with locks at our disposal that we used a lot. They even brought us fresh flowers every few days. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very friendly and welcoming. There are 13 steps up to the room which might be a problem for some people along with a step into each room. The shower and toilet/sink are opposite of each other and has about a 6” step into each. The bedroom and living room about a 2” step up. The beach is right across the road and has a rock wall to prevent erosion. It’s an easy walk in either direction if you want a sandy beach. Our only complaint were...
Read moreWe were looking for a quiet place to relax a bit while discovering the area of Hua Hin. First we booked for 3 nights, but extended it with two more nights. ||This place is a hidden paradise with the best restaurant in town (really) and a lovely swimming pool. You just have to cross the street to get to the beach, so it is very convenient if you are a beach lover.||The bungalows are really cool. Each has a private little garden with a fountain, a swing and open lounge area. The actual room (rather apartment) is upstairs. There is a bedroom, a separate shower and a separate toilet and a small living room with a balcony. You will have your peace here. ||Everything in the minibar is free of charge and refilled every day. They provide you with a beach bag with two beach towels and there is a bike for each guest to use during their stay. ||They even provide you an electric mosquito racket. ||The breakfast is also absolutely 5 star. Try the pineapple jam.||The manager is a very nice person (his name is Ton if I remember well), speaks good English and happy to help you with any enquiries. ||The only con is that there are only two people who can speak English (one of them is the manager) and if they are not around and you need something, you are in trouble. ||I would come back any time, absolutely...
Read moreLast Saturday my family and two friends visited the restaurant of this resort. The restaurant has easy access from the beach road and there is plenty of parking space available.||We all agreed that the restaurants looks very nice, we were seated inside at the big table. To see how it looks is easy, click on the dining tab at their website.||We ordered tuna towers for starters and one other thing with mango I guess. Main course was pizza napoletana, salmon steak, spaghetti carbonara. One of our friends ordered a good botte of red wine. The staff performs very well, they do everything according to etiquette but are not really visible, my compliments.||The tuna tower was delicious with a nice crispy touch. My wife and children were also very satisfied with the pizza and pasta. Although the portion of pasta doesn't look big the sauce is very rich and will fill you quickly. The only thing I did not like was my salmon steak because I thought it was slightly undercooked. I did not bother sending it back because it would be waiting again and it was quite late already.||All in all a good restaurants but a bit pricy for Thailand. For 3 starters, pizza, 3 plates of pasta and a good bottle of red wine I paid 4.296 baht...
