A Perfect Mini Escape from Bangkok – Villa Maroc, Hua Hin
Just a few hours’ drive from the city chaos of Bangkok, Villa Maroc in Hua Hin was the perfect escape I didn’t know I needed. Tucked along the serene beachfront of Pranburi, this Moroccan-inspired boutique resort transported me far beyond Thailand the moment I stepped onto the property.
The architecture is stunning – think vibrant tiles, arched doorways, and pops of deep blue and terracotta. Every corner feels like a curated photo opp, yet still manages to feel cozy and intimate. I stayed in one of the pool villas, which came with direct beach access, a private plunge pool, and the dreamiest rooftop terrace view for sunrise and sunset moments.
Service was warm and attentive, with staff going above and beyond without being intrusive. Breakfast was a delight – simple but well done, with both local and international options served with a sea breeze on the side.
What I loved most was the quiet luxury – no crowds, no noise, just peace, beautiful design, and the sound of waves as my weekend soundtrack. It’s an ideal spot for couples, solo unwinds, or anyone looking to hit pause without straying too far from the city.
Would I go back? Absolutely. Villa Maroc is now on my list of go-to weekend...

Read moreWe love the hotel, despite a series of strange circumstances and very run down room. ||We booked a pool villa which located at a quiet long beach. At the first glance, we fell in love with it straight away and after our first swim, we decided to extend our stay for a night longer. However, after lunch, we realized that the water in a sink didn’t drain properly, the sink stopper (bathroom upstairs) couldn’t stop water or anything. Tiles in bath tub broken out leaving lots of green moss between. Rain leaked from a speaker at the ceiling. Doors cannot close properly. Wring size fly screen so it was so beaten up from bad fitting. Breakfast is very poor. Far under average.||Staffs are kind though. Especially K Kae (thank you for everything you tried and did for us). Would we go back? Yes! But please renovate the room first. Your place is too special to let it run down that bad.||Thank you to K Earth too. You made our dinner so wonderful...
