I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Vismaya Hotel, and I must say it was far from satisfactory. From the moment I arrived, it became apparent that this establishment fell far short of its advertised standards. I encountered two major issues during my stay: a severely damaged pool and an exorbitant charge for a minor inconvenience.
Firstly, let's discuss the pool. I was looking forward to enjoying a relaxing swim and taking in the ambiance of the hotel's amenities. To my dismay, the pool was in a state of disrepair. The tiles were chipped and broken, and overall cleanliness was severely lacking. It was evident that proper maintenance was not a priority for the hotel, and this greatly affected my experience as a guest.
Secondly, the incident with the bed sheet was utterly disappointing. While accidents can happen, I did not expect to be charged a whopping 500 baht for a small stain that resulted from a minor nose bleed. I understand that hotels have policies in place, but this charge was completely disproportionate and unjustified. It left me feeling taken advantage of and further highlighted the hotel's lack of consideration for its guests' satisfaction.
To make matters worse, the staff's response to these issues was unhelpful and indifferent. When I expressed my concerns about the damaged pool, I was met with dismissive replies and no attempt to rectify the situation. As for the excessive charge for the bloodstained bed sheet, the staff showed no empathy or willingness to reconsider their decision, displaying a complete lack of customer service.
Overall, my stay at Vismaya Hotel was a letdown. The damaged pool was a glaring reflection of the hotel's neglect, and the unreasonably high charge for a minor mishap left me feeling deceived and dissatisfied. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and accommodating experience. There are numerous other establishments in the area that prioritize guest satisfaction and uphold higher standards of service and...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed in this hotel just for a night after arriving in Bangkok late from the U.S. before flying to Chiang Mai the next morning. It was really perfect for that purpose!
Pros: -It's only a 5-10 minute drive from the airport and they offer good complimentary shuttle service. -The staff was very friendly and helpful. -There is a good ATM right in the lobby. -Room (and property) was very clean and well maintained. -Modern look and feel -Really good, reliable WIFI! -AC was wonderful -Big shower with rain shower head and plenty of hot water as well as a nice big seat and a removable sprayer which would be great for those with disabilities -Big nice tub also with removable sprayer -Mini fridge has complimentary water bottles -Nice pool area that is very well maintained -Included breakfast was great! Wide variety of options including fresh fruits and vegetables, noodles and rice, eggs, pancakes, toast as well as juices and milk and cereal etc. We really enjoyed the breakfast. -Very quiet
Cons: -This is not a hotel to stay in if you want to leave the property and walk around, go out to eat, explore the city. No no no. The surrounding neighborhood is very dumpy and sketchy with feral dogs running around and lots of garbage. That being said, I felt very safe and secure in and on the premises.
In summary, if you need a comfortable and convenient place to stay for a night that is really close to the airport, this is your place! You really can't beat it for the price!...
Read moreRoom rates tend to be $25-$40. It is because it is so cheap that I’m giving it three stars. This close to the airport, under $40 is a bargain. I’m not positive this building was originally constructed to be hotel. The rooms are huge but floors, ceiling and walls are all concrete giving it a bunker feeling. The bathroom is rather large as well with a huge tub and glass walls looking into the sleeping area. Curtains are available for privacy. All fixtures and furniture throughout the room are long overdue for repair or replacement.
The pool, bar, restaurant and lobby seem well-maintained. The lobby, restaurant and bar are all essentially one room with two story ceilings and because everything is concrete the acoustics are very loud and echoey.
If possible, call ahead and ask them to turn on the air-conditioning in your room 30 minutes before your arrival. The rooms were so stifling we went to the bar for a drink and a snack in order to allow the rooms to cool down to a bearable level. I had already asked to change rooms due to two of the lights in the sleeping area being burnt out. Even with all lights working the rooms are poorly lit and very dim. We turned on the air and went for a drink. I suggested the manager by us a round because of our experience. He explained he did not have the authority to do so.
Even with everything we experienced, I would stay here again because of the less than $40...
