Stayed at Baan Phuanda for 2 nights and it was really satisfactory. I can't really give a too good or a bad review either, considering the fact that they had basic necessities and the staff serving our needs promptly. I'll try to write this review as descriptive as possible for those who are looking to stay at Phuket with a budget. ||||LOCATION||It's most definitely a budget location and you get your basic needs. The hotel is located near hospitals and is centralized, so anywhere you're going, especially to tourist attractions are about 10 - 30 minutes away from you. Unless you're going to beaches or forests. The Rassada Pier where the ferries would dock there, is an hour away or lesser, based on traffic - and if you're especially arriving by the pier and have no transport to travel in to the town, you might end up in a mini bus / van with few other tourists and probably paying 100 baht per head to town. I did not see any taxis however. ||||HOTEL ||I actually like the concept of the boutique hotel. It's very cute and creative!||||HOTEL ROOM||Sadly, I have to say that I'm pretty much disappointed with the room. It only has basic necessities, which I'm not going to complain much but if you're using standard 3 pin plugs for your chargers and stuff, you might need to request for international plug adapter. What I was disappointed about was the smell the room gave the moment me and my husband steps in. We're not sure if it's from the drain or the aircon but the room (225) smelled pretty bad - but once we've switched on the aircon for awhile, the smell isn't there (which we're assuming it's coming from the aircon). The TV Channels are all dubbed in Thai (yes including cartoon shows and stuff). They do have ironing boards but you would actually need to RENT them for 50 baht - if I remembered correctly, pardon me if I'm wrong. Had no face towels and had to call up to request from them but one of them had stains. The room is cement and tiles and I'm one to not wear any shoes in the room - but the floor always felt dirty when I stepped on it, not sure if they clean it. Staff who was cleaning the room also wore her shoes in, she only took it out when she saw us took out ours as we came back to the hotel in the noon while she was halfway cleaning it. However, the bed was comfortable, the wardrobe was huge and everything else was pretty much just alright. ||||BREAKFAST||I was excited to see what they've got for breakfast but I was extremely disappointed for this one. Breakfast is from 7am - 10am and I got down at 9am for 2 days and what I've seen that they serve was only Cornflakes, Toast with Strawberry Jam or Pineapple Jam, Orange Juice, Coffee and Tea. The other parts of the dining area was pretty much closed with white cloth covered on them. But, what can you expect for a hotel you've paid for such an amount. ||||STAFF||Staff at the reception was friendly and helpful the whole time! They're always greeting you, which was nice! ||||FOOD AROUND THE AREA||If you're searching for halal food, me and my husband did alot of walking around the area to find for some, but so far, we only found 2. One of the restaurant was at the corner of the hotel and another was beside the SCB Bank. Other than that, we're always buying food off the shelves of 7-Eleven. ||||TRANSPORT||You could rent a scooter from the hotel counter for 250 baht per day. The staffs will call up and a guy will come by send the scooter - but they'll be asking for your passport till you return the bike. ||||PLACES AROUND THAT AREA||My husband fell sick as soon as we arrived the hotel, so we didn't really get to travel to the beaches around Phuket, but we got to check out a few. ||||Chillva Market - Hip Market with Food, Clothes, Bars, Restaurants. If you'd like to try nice drinks for good prices, there's this guy with his cart that says " The Godfather " and selling drinks near the entrance of the market (usually nearer to where everyone parks their bikes). Recommend all to head here ! There is so much good food here. ||||Rang Hill - A view point in that area, it overlooks the whole city and is 50 minutes walk from the hotel. Long walk and very steep! Unless you'd love to hike, renting a scooter and riding up there would be a better option. No taxis at the top too! There is monkey feeding (but always be careful because they can attack) and a restaurant + a shop.||||Central Festival Phuket - A shopping centre that's about 15 minutes (by scooter) away from the hotel. Nice place to chill with loads of restaurants. ||||Jungceylon - A shopping centre near to Patong Beach. We rode all the way out and there's nothing special but there was shop brands like quicksilver and DC having sales! ||||Thalang Road - Went there at night but it looked great in the day. Loads of nice shops in that area. ||||Note: Not much nightlife around that area. It gets quiet and dark at night - so you'd rather stay...
Read moreI stayed 19 nights at Baan PhuAnda in early October 2022. As Thailand had just begun to admit travelers, it seemed as if I was the only occupant during my first week there, but I felt comfortable (70+ female) during the entire time. My room was a 2nd floor (with entrance being the 1st floor) balcony which looked down to the modest street below and across to apartments above businesses. I was visiting with a good friend who lives in Phuket and was within walking distance of his apartment. There are many small, good restaurants in the immediate area, although it is not a busy touristy locale. Street noise was never a problem.
The large room was immaculate and cleaned and straightened daily. The wi-fi was always reliable and speedy. The air conditioning worked well and the water was hot. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
I would look forward to staying there again to use as my reasonable (inexpensive) home while visiting and traveling around the island...

It was also cheaper than most of the others.||||The room was nice and there were no bugs. The shower and bathroom was nicer than any other we experienced during our trip.||||Within a couple minutes walk there are tons of little coffee stalls which sell AMAAZZZING Starbucks fancy style coffee for 30 baht. A lot of the places to get food in the immediate area are open air, cheap, and the staff probably won't speak your language so plan to do some pointing at menus. Everyone in the surrounding area was very nice to us and we left Phuket very happy.||||If I ever choose to go back to Bangkok Hospital Phuket, which I think I will, I will definitely stay...
