It could be much better than this…
We arrived at the hotel at 9 PM. It took about 5–10 minutes to find a staff member. During our entire stay, we never saw anyone at the reception.
We were given a room where the air conditioning didn’t work. We immediately reported the issue, and for that night, we were given a replacement room. The lady told us that the AC technician had been there that day and found everything in order, but they would call him back the next day. In the morning, we confirmed that the technician would come at 5 PM, and we planned our day accordingly so we could be back at the hotel by then (I wanted to see what he was doing). We returned on time, only to find out that the technician had already left.
So my question—along with a piece of advice—is: WHY DON’T YOU STICK TO WHAT YOU AGREE ON WITH YOUR GUESTS??
Even after that, the AC never worked properly. It barely cooled the room, randomly switched to fan mode, and since two of the room’s walls were made entirely of windows, the temperature easily reached 30°C. When, by some miracle, it actually started cooling, it froze us completely. On top of that, it was as loud as a tractor. We could hardly sleep during our stay.
Also, the inside of the AC unit was covered in mold. So I ask: WHAT KIND OF TECHNICIANS DO YOU EMPLOY?? A moldy AC poses serious health risks. Or does that not matter?
Of course, the cannabis shop on the hotel’s ground floor had a brand-new air conditioning unit.
The rooms themselves were fine. The building was clearly older, but with proper maintenance, many things could be improved. For example, replacing the 10-year-old, stained, and dirty toilet seats wouldn’t even require a...
Read morePros:
The pool on the roof was nice, we had it for ourselves most of the time, because only a few dared to walk up the stairs on the side of the building which looked like it was crumbling in some places.
Location was okay in regards to a walkable distance to Chillva Market, which is my personal favorite market on the island of Phuket.
The women who worked there were kind and understanding when we mentioned any problem, they took care of problems when we asked for help.
Cons:
We encountered large cockroaches inside the rooms at several occations. I am guessing these bugs entered through the air ventilation (heard some crawling sounds) or the bathroom drains(quite dirty).
A gecko inside the room making loud screaming noises at night which we could not find and remove, the staff laughed at this problem.
Some type of eggs or egg-formed dust kept falling from cracks in the roof in one of our rooms everyday even after they cleaned it.
Sometimes a strong smell of anti-bug spray in our rooms after the daily cleaning. One day the smell was too strong, so we had to have an open window(the windows have bug nets installed)
The cleaning of the rooms were not good enough, we found several spider nets in the bathroom aswell.
Neutral:
There's a massive cannabis plantation on this property, surrounding the hotel, and it smells of strong cannabis plants in the hallways of the hotel. Personally I don't mind the smell, because it smells like plants, but some people might not enjoy it. There's many cannabis products for sale and different educational posters in the 1st floor / lobby...
Read moreI checked into ID Residences after being discharged from the nearby hospital after suffering a broken leg and having surgery. Even though the hotel was only a 5 minute walk from the hospital I wasn’t able for it and was really annoyed that every single taxi driver tried to charge us an extortionist price for a 1 minute car journey. My boyfriend walked up to the hotel with one of our backpacks while I waited at the hospital and that’s when he met Hermut and Lex. Hermut immediately offered to collect me at the hospital and drive me to the hotel. They were both so kind when I checked in and gave me a room right beside the lift. They said we could have breakfast at any time and put on a huge spread for us. On our second day there they arrived with a wheelchair so that my boyfriend could push me around and Hermut offered to bring me to a really nice scenic place a couple of days later (seeing as I had been stuck in a hospital for the past week). Sadly we didn’t get to do this because I ended up getting my flight home. They both drove me to the airport. They are such a lovely couple and two of the kindest people I’ve ever met. I was going through the worst experience of my life at the time and they really cheered me up. Thank you so much...
