Tranquil Oasis in Thailand's Ancient Capital
Our stay at Sriwilai Sukhothai Resort & Spa was truly exceptional and more a destination experience by itself rather than just a stay! The resort beautifully blends traditional Thai architecture with modern luxury, creating a serene atmosphere that perfectly complements the historical significance of Sukhothai. The lush tropical gardens surrounding the property transported me to a peaceful sanctuary while the carefully designed spaces offered both relaxation and a connection to Thai culture. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this wasn't just accommodation but an experience crafted to showcase the best of Thai hospitality amid a stunning natural setting.
LOCATION: The resort's location is ideal - just a 10-minute drive from the UNESCO World Heritage Sukhothai Historical Park, making it perfect for exploring the ancient ruins. While not directly in the city center, this slight removal creates a tranquil environment away from tourist crowds. The resort offers a convenient and cutely designed TUK TUK transfer service to the historical park and main attractions(for a very nominal fee). The surrounding countryside provides beautiful views, especially of rice fields and distant mountains. Being about 40 minutes from the airport, transfers were straightforward and efficient.
DINE + DRINK: The on-site restaurant exceeded my expectations with its authentic Northern Thai cuisine prepared with fresh, local ingredients. The breakfast buffet offered an impressive selection of both Thai and Western options - the tropical fruits were exceptionally fresh. I particularly enjoyed their signature dishes featuring regional specialties from Sukhothai province. The chef even custom-made wickedly delicious VEGETARIAN Thai dishes upon request! The poolside bar served excellent cocktails with Thai-inspired flavors, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration under the trees! For dinner, the candlelit setting overlooking the pool created a romantic atmosphere that enhanced the dining experience
ROOM: We stayed in Room D501, which was a DELUXE ROOM, so this review is based on that. The room was immaculately clean and tastefully decorated with Thai elements that complemented the modern amenities. It was also thoughtfully designed with wooden furnishings and subtle lighting that creates a warm, inviting atmosphere. ; SIZE: Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; VIEW: Beautiful and Blissful views of the fields and nature! ; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: The bed was exceptionally comfortable with high-quality linen; BATHROOM: Super tastefully decorated bathroom with a Stand-in shower. TOILETRIES: Good spa-quality toiletries
FACILITIES: No Gym on site, but the huge & gorgeous swimming pool(looking into the fields) is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the property. The onsite spa is excellent!
SERVICE: The friendly staff truly elevated our experience with their genuine warmth and attentiveness. From the graceful wai greeting upon arrival to the thoughtful daily interactions, every staff member seemed committed to ensuring our comfort. The front desk team was particularly helpful with arranging tours and transportation to local attractions.
HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all over the property, and the speed is very good! Medium-sized Smart TV dishing out a wide variety of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies, and entertainment in...

Very nice hotel. Might be the best in Sukhothai city area. The location is perfect as it's out cite the city and very close to the historical park (5 min by tuk tuk or 1.8km, so it's walkable too). The hotel is very well kept. They have complimentary bycicles that can be used to go around town and a cute tuk tuk that can be rented at 100thb per way. The hotel is also walking distance to the Sukhothai cultural center. We went there for dinner and to see a Sukhothai dance performance (this was a pleasant surprise). Highly recommended. The food was also very good.
DISCOUNT COUPONS :
Upon check in you will get coupons of 5% discount for the resturant (only one 1 time). 30% for spa for 2 pax to be used before 4pm. 20% for 2 pax after 4 pm until closed at 22:00 hrs.
SWIMMING POOL AND GARDEN : Beautiful garden and the pool area is very inviting, clean and relaxing. This was my favourite area. The garden and hotel compaunds are very big, making suitable for children and families. Although I don't see any kids playground, but nature and the garden will be fun for them. There's also a children's pool 0.5m deep. And a resturan/cafe by the pool, separate from the main resturant. There's part of an antient temple remaining right behind the hotel, which can be admired from a platform deck they built. This makes it unique.
RESTURANT : The resturant is good although it can improve on the dishes. I felt it can use some more Thai food options. The service was pleasant. Especially a young attendant during the breakfast. She was very friendly and smiley.
BREAKFAST : The breakfast was very good. With both Thai and western options. Both local and western desserts, breads, egg station, drinks, yogurt, salad bar, plenty of Thai dishes, Thai porridge and a nice coffee machine to get your cappuccino, latte, espresso, etc. The reception personnel was very helpful, friendly and courteous. Explained everything in detail.
ROOM: We had the basic room. It was comfortable and very clean. Good linen and towels, complimentary tea, coffee, water kettle, Mini fridge, and extra snacks and drinks at a reasonable cost. The hair drier was of good quality (very important for me😁). Good quality ropes and slippers (I even bought myself and extra pair as I became a huge fan).
SPA AND MASSAGE: The spa is very clean, quiet and relaxing, the massage was good and the service was friendly. I took the oil massage. You get 30% discount coupons from the hotel. This can be used up until 4pm. Or 20% after 4 pm except Thai massage is always 20% discount only regardless of the time.
DOWNERS: A. The downers for me was that there's still a lot of light that comes through the curtains, they are maybe 50% block out. This made it a bit challenging for me to sleep as I prefer darker rooms at night.
B. Also there's a lot of mosquitoes outside the room. They sneak right in when you open the door to go in and out of the room. They have a racquet insect zapper so that can be used. 🎾 It was dry season so I don't even want to imagine what's like during rainy season. Perhaps the hotel can do better fumigation.
I'd certainly come back here and higy...
