Overall review: Severely dated rooms for a hotel in this "star" category, slow and poor service, dirty and dingy rooms, not a good walkable area.

I'm not sure why this hotel has so many good reviews. We had a pretty bad experience here. When we arrived, the room was clean, but the bathroom was disgusting. It was like someone forgot to clean the bathroom. The toilet seat was up and there was sh!t on the bottom of the seat and on the toilet bowl. The bathroom sink had food pieces stuck in it and the rim of the sink had tons of mold/mildew. Our shower door wouldn't close completely and it smelled really musty. We didn't have a full set of towels. We were so tired and just wanted to rest, so I literally cleaned the room myself with some travel wipes and called down for hand towels. They sent up more large bath towels.

Then, the toilet stopped working. Every 3-5 flushes or so, the tank would stop filling with water so you couldn't flush it. The fill valve mechanism was clearly old and broken (I've fixed this issue in my own home and I understand basic plumbing) and needed to be replaced, not just fiddled with. But THREE times, that's exactly what happened. I called for maintenance and the guy clearly just reset it a little and it would break again, the same day.

The final straw was that that 3rd time I asked for the toilet to be fixed and really tried to explain that the valve needed to be REPLACED, they sent the guy up while we were out of the day. When we came back, it had only been fiddled with again AND the guy clearly took a leak, with the seat down and left piss on the toilet seat!!! Unbelievable.

On a more minor, but not ok note: there were also holes in our curtain, the TV is from the early 2000s and was dirty and also didn't work properly when we checked in. I had to ask twice for someone to come look at the TV and any requests like this took a long time. The guy finally came up and it took a while for him to figure it out (the cable connection was not working for some reason) , but even once it worked, it wasn't worth watching. The TV was so old. Even cheap(er) hotels we stayed in in Surat Thani and Chiang Mai had Smart TVs with Netflix. We ended up watching TV on our iPad. Small things like only one outlet next to the bed were also annoying and no USB outlets.

After all of these issues, I finally had to go down and talk to the manager and they upgraded us to a 1-bedroom suite with a late check out for our departure day since we had an evening flight. I was disappointed that we only had one day of this upgrade, but I was really trying to give them a chance and didn't complain earlier. It was enough for what we needed in the moment and we were grateful to have a room that last day.

Also set out dirty room svc dishes in the hallway one night around 9pm and they sat there until after 1pm the next day.

Oh, almost forgot, we decided to hit the pool, which was pretty nice, but there were two teenage boys in a lounger next to us, smoking weed it was really annoying and not appropriate at all. The woman on the other side of us had a small child and there were other families with young kids. She asked a poolside employee to ask them to please stop and she nodded and said ok, and then walked right past them and said nothing.

I get that there can be a language barrier, but it seemed the general attitude of the staff here was to just nod, smile, and do nothing.

Not everything was bad, but this hotel has a beautiful lobby and the rooms just don't match. The room we were upgraded too was quite a but nicer, but still really dated and lots of the same issues.

A couple good things: The spa was nice and pretty reasonable for hotel spa prices.

The morning breakfast buffet was pretty good with a large variety of foods, but the tables were often a little dirty and the service wasn't great.

This hotel really misses the mark in so many ways. I wouldn't recommend it and I wouldn't stay there again. There are lots of options in this neighborhood. Spend your money...

I'm having a lot of reservation when I first book this hotel due to many poor review but after staying for 4 nights, here is my take:

I think of this as a 4.5* hotel and it quickly become one of the best hotel I've stayed in Bangkok especially when value comes in mind. This could be a 5* hotel and charge a premium if they fix some of the issues but I don't think they should so they can keep the price competitive.

It is true that the room does feel a little old and aging but just like a fine wine, it isn't necessary be a bad thing. Our room is huge, comfortable and most things just work. The wifi is fast and stable. There were 2 accessible balconies with amazing view. The chairs, sofa, bed and bathtub down to the bathrobe is clean, usable and a great addition. TV works but who's using it nowadays? Maybe give it a HDMI cable and I could plug them into my computer for Netflix or something would be better.

The gym is well equipped, the breakfast buffet is good, the room are clean and comfortable. About 1km walk away to the nearest BTS and directly located just in front of a BRT.

This would be the hotel that I will be returning to if the price remain competitive. I notice a lot of Koreans, Chinese and Japanese during my stay. The service crew is ok, but not great, especially for me who experienced spectacular service crew from other 4* hotel in Bangkok. The female housekeeper often cheerfully greet us but the male housekeeper do feel a little awkward, no worries, we don't bite so just smile!

Areas to improve: Invest into crew training. The receptionist seems alright but other crew could use more training especially the overworked or understaffed(?) kitchen/restaurant crew. The walk from 46th floor to the skybar is extremely stuffy and uncomfortable despite beautifully decorated. The Blinding white LEDssssssssss lighting of 'ZOOM' is outright dangerous for me when climbing the stairs, perhaps tone that down a little. Would be nice to provide tea spoon in the room without us having to ask. Also, Nescafe and Lipton as complimentary doesn't cut it even for a 4* hotel. I'm sure there are better options. Fix the lighting in the wardrobe. The massive crowd at the breakfast bar really took away the 5* hotel vibe as it quickly descend into a market place. Perhaps having special menu at certain timing in the morning or open another restaurant so the crowd can be more spread out. Obviously business is good but at 9.15AM and onwards, the queue become ridiculously long and the poor restaurant staff have to skelter to find seat for guest.

Also, please add a note stating "Please wait here to be seated" so guest knows what to do. Often guest just walked in and find their own seat because they don't know what is to expect from them. Also, where is the coffee machine? Why keep them inside and having the need to order it from the staff that increase the burden of having them deliver it. Save their effort and let ourselves get our own coffee.

That being said, I'm happy and still will...

This is not a five star hotel. Yes entry foyer looks nice and rooms are spacious. But that’s it. Started badly with no Vallet parking just pointed in a direction so we took the car to a separate building used by residents of a neighbouring tower so it is difficult to work out where your allowed to park and mostly only available spots on level 6 or higher. Service was poor the entire stay a simple greeting was only offered by the bell boy who I guess was nice to get a tip. No warm greeting on check in and a worse experience upon checking out as no hello how was your stay? And not even glad you stayed with us and look forward to seeing you again( btw you won’t be) just handed me the receipt no words said and she spoke perfect English. So as I walked in to the bar to order a drink the barman was sitting in the bar with a Chef both looking tired and slumped over the bar ? So decided to go to the pool for a swim around 7pm I couldn’t find a clean day bed or towel . There were 4 other guests using the pool area and seating for about 25 every area was covered in used towels beer bottles, cocktail glasses and huge amount of dirty plates with left over food. The pool bar person was sitting down at a table next to the bar doing nothing? As there was obviously no table service a walk over to a daggy looking understocked bar . I ordered a glass of white wine she looked shocked and opened the fridge door to show me the poor selection so I chose a Beer later as I walked by the main bar they serve wine by the glass. She then asked me to wait 5 mins later she came back with a printed bill? No facilities at the pool bar to print a bill , it’s 2024!! The most disgusting part of the stay was after breakfast I went to the pool for a swim and all the above mentioned towels and glasses and plates of half eaten food were all still scattered around the pool area with the cleaner sweeping up a few fallen leaves . This was 10.am still not cleaned from 7pm the night before. All the common areas are dirty , dusty any thing that is glass or stainless steel needs a good clean and polish. Elevators have spiderwebs hanging down from the ceiling, dirty mirrors, floors and the same rubbish left in them for 2 days. Carpet in hallways to rooms. Not vacuumed and so dirty and stained . Restaurant had no diners and looked univting but as we just drove4 hours we were hungry and just wanted to eat. We walked in and thought it was closed. Staff standing around but not a thing on tables looked boring and closed . Remembered we stayed here when the hotel was branded under another name so I asked was the restaurant by the pool still there . We were told yes and taken to a more boring messy dirty space to sit and watch the staff doing office work with leads and laptops in what used to be a nice styled set up restaurant. So not coming back and don’t be fooled by old photos this hotel is...

Wonderful stay at this hotel. Overview: - Amazing staff. Super friendly and will go above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect - Stayed in 1 bedroom suite. Clean and comfortable - Location is 10 mins walk to nearest sky train station - Breakfast selection is huge and plentiful - Zoom bar in the 40th floor is great but expensive (to be expected) - Hotel set back in from the main road - There is some construction work happening close by - Only 3 lifts Staff. From the moment I entered I felt very welcomed and valued as a guest. I was checked in by Scarlet and getting in a 9am I asked if there was a chance of an early check-in. I was given a welcome drink and asked to wait in the foyer and within an hour was given the keys to my room 4 hours early. Scarlet was friendly and very helpful to get this sorted for me. On subsequent days if she saw me she would ask how my day was going and remember who I was. This is what sets great staff apart. Also Golf who worked at the main door was super friendly and would always spend a few mins to talk with me each time I saw him. Skytrain. There is a shuttle but just walk it. It's 10mins and there is so much traffic on the road outside the hotel it's not worth it. Leave the hotel, turn left and just walk 10min straight ahead until you reach the main intersection and take the steps up to get to the station. Food and Drink. There is free infused water (different daily) at reception. The drinks at the bar are relatively expensive but that is true of any hotel. There is a 7/11 about 5-7 mins walk away (out hotel, turn left and it will be on your left). There are a number of street food vendors along the main road outside the hotel as well. Tours. You can book tours from reception, next to the concierge. They are open each day until approx 20:30. They are cheaper than booking from back in the UK. I did 2 tours through them and can highly recommend it. For the temples by the river, just use the skytrain and local ferry. Skytrain will cost around 40 bhat and local ferry is 13 or 15 bhat depending on the boat. Breakfast. It can get very busy so recommend if you can to go before 7:30. Plentiful choices of both Western and Eastern food. Lifts. Only 3 lifts so can be a wait sometimes. Could not see stairs from ground floor to the restaurant on the 2nd so you just need to wait for the lifts.

We stayed here with family while it was under Anatara management and we thought it was great even though there is a bit of walk to the closest BTS station (Chong Nosi). Coming back was a bit of a shock and shows how fall it has fallen since. It has definitely dropped a star. The first shocking feature was that the lobby café was undergoing renovation, with white hoarding taking you from reception to the lift lobby. During our time there, there didn’t seem to be any work happening. Our room lock didn’t accept our key card and we were told that the lock was defective. Other signs across the hotel indicated that maintenance was required: hotel supplies room doors that don’t close, outdoor wooden decking warping, closet doors that don’t close, leaking shower doors, finishing coming off taps. The staff was pretty good, but we had to call again for room supplies; toothbrushes and razors not supplied as default (which I can understand as an environmental initiative). Room make-up service was inconsistent; one day the bathroom floor mat wouldn’t be replaced, and then the hand towel weren’t another day. There was no towels for the swimming pool nor any staff manning the gym, but you could get towels there. The breakfast was disappointing but to be honest, there is so much good and cheap food outside that it really wasn’t a big issue for us, and nice to get a tea or coffee to start the day. Service one morning was pretty with dishes cleared almost as soon as we had finished the dish, but on the last day they seemed short-staffed and no one cleared away our dishes during the whole sitting. Not a big deal but certainly not 5-star service. By no means was it a disaster; we loved the big one bedroom suite we had, and there were plenty of food options between the hotel and BTS. There’s a great money exchanger by the BTS as well. The gym and (unheated) swimming pool were nice. It was pretty good value for what we paid, but I would be happy to try somewhere for the money with a better location.
