We stayed for a few nights at Hotel Soussana and they were responsive & helpful when we got in contact before the trip. ||We were able to check in earlier when we arrived and due to the wait at reception, were given bottles of water, which was nice of them. We were handed an extra towel, toilet paper & remote controls for the aircon & TV at check-in. ||The foyer of the hotel is spacious & modern but the room itself was quite old fashioned, like it hadn't been upgraded in decades. The furniture & decor was very retro. The only bit of the room which had been upgraded was the bathroom. ||There was a lot of storage space but only three hangers. We had a balcony, which was helpful but one side of the door was stiff so it was awkward to get out & the room wasn't very bright. There was no kettle or coffee or tea in the room, but the lack of these seem to be common in the hotels in Tunisia which we stayed at. ||The towels were yellow instead of white & were well-worn & threadbare, as were the sheets. There was no shower gel provided, only shampoo & a soap & the shampoo was in small plastic bottles, so not great for the environment. ||There was no hair dryer in the room so this had to be requested from reception daily, which was a bit of a pain. ||As the hotel is on a popular road with many eateries, there was quite a lot of noise from the traffic, including from speeding bikers. It was about 25-30 minutes' walk into Sousse & the train station, which isn't an issue but was a lot further from the louage & bus stations. ||The TV screen was pixallated which we assume was due to the poor reception. ||There was a suction plug for the sink but the water doesn't drain when it's over the sinkhole. When removed, there is a massive sinkhole so there was a risk of losing things down it, such as rings or toothbrush heads, if not careful. ||The worst thing about the room was the poor drainage in the shower. It took forever to drain so we would need to pause in our shower to make sure the water had receded sufficiently as one evening we had unwittingly flooded the bathroom & part of the bedroom! ||Breakfast was very basic & the same everyday - a sausage/ham, some cheese, salad, sardines, potatoes, halwa chamia, yoghurt, breads & spreads. There was a little heated container which croissants, pain au chocolat & boiled eggs were kept in, which was a nice touch. There was no fruit. ||Overall, Soussana was an OK hotel. The location is not the most convenient but it wasn't a long walk from the city centre. It's a basic & functional hotel & staff were generally helpful. The hotel is probably due an update, starting with new towels & sheets & sorting out the...

Read moreVery nice hotel. Very clean, spacious, bright rooms with cute balcony. Very friendly staff and filling breakfast. Despite the location next to the busy road, the hotel feels quiet and calm. Located close to restaurants and 10min walk to the beach. If you are looking for a comfortable stay in Sousse, I would 100% recommend it. With only 2 stars, it has better standards than its neighbouring huge hotel (RP - don't want to name and shame). If you are looking for an all-inclusive hotel with a bar and a pool and space for kids, this is not a place for you. If you are travelling alone or without kids and need a comfortable place to stay near the city centre and the beach - this is 100% place for you. Thank you to the friendly staff (cleaners, reception, managers and all). I hope to be...
