Hotel Residence Monia — Hotel in Sousse

It's not my nature to write partial reviews of any place, but this place is unsuitable for receiving guests. Save yourself the trouble of going to this particular venue. The Wi-Fi is incredibly slow; for text messages, you have to wait a while. This indicates a poor internet connection. When I arrived at 4 PM, the ambulance worker was asleep upstairs, and I was worried he wouldn't wake up. Furthermore, the staff inside were busy, and the place reeked of alcohol ashtrays. It's a noisy, old place with an unpleasant smell in the rooms. I couldn't sleep properly because of the noises outside, and the bathrooms and rooms were constantly being moved. The uncomfortable mattress caused me back pain, and all the other issues mentioned above make it a bad choice. For this price, you can find much better places in Sousse. This will be my first and last time going to this place; I wouldn't recommend...

It’s a good hotel overall. It’s close to everything you might need; a few steps away from a main busy street with lots of other businesses. The manager was always on top of things and making sure things were okay with my stay.

I agree with other travelers about the smoking situation, but it seems there are very few smoke-free places in Tunisia; that’s just how the country is.

The only suggestion I have for management is to look into adjusting the lights going up the stairs. They stay on for just a couple seconds after you step out of your room, and don’t turn on again as...

For the price paid, the hotel was decent for a one night stay. It has all the essentials. The only thing was that the friendly receptionist told us that there would be water until before midnight but the water was cut already at 10pm…! It was a city problem so was not their fault but the miscommunication was unfortunate. They were thoughtful to have places filled bottles around for emergency use anyway. Had we known about the accurate timing of the water cut, we would have certainly taken an earlier shower. Still ok choice for a hotel at this price range...
