Eyuboglu Hotel — Hotel in Çankaya

I checked into this hotel late at night tired after a long trip. As I tried to take a shower, they had no hot water. They had to come and open some sort of faucet for a hot water. After I finally took the shower as I got into bed I immediately realized the sheets smelled like someone slept in them before me. Needless to say I felt disgusted and dirty all over again. That’s like the worst thing that can happen. I had to request for new sheets and had to make the bed myself as the housekeeping was gone for the day.

The breakfast was decent though. I recommend inspecting and smelling the sheets before getting in at this hotel if you decide to use them.

Let the real boss of this establishment check the cameras and see how many times someone came upstairs to first deal with the water issue then second time to hand me new sheets.

We arrived late, but had called ahead to check we were ok for a late check-in. Advised we would be fine. Arrived at 2am. Reception desk was open, as promised and staff could not have been more helpful. Obviously taking our bags etc as you would expect, but providing drinks, advising on the area and generally being most helpful and understanding as we had had a 16 hour drive. Situato in pieno centro di Ankara nella zona di Kizilay a 5 minuti dalla metropolitana, ci siamo arrivati in taxi dal terminal dei bus di Asti per il prezzo concordato di 20 lire turche, anche se il tassametro alla fine ne segnava più di 28. Non è la prima volta, infatti in Turchia, che in grandi città, i tassisti si facciano indicare la strada dai colleghi che fermano lungo il tragitto per più e più volte. Alla fine comunque siamo arrivati in questo albergo classificato come quattro stelle, in ||Italia ne avrebbe tre, ma comunque molto funzionale ed efficiente. Se non avete molti bagagli è molto più conveniente dal terminal dei bus prendere la metro Ankaray (linea verde) fino a Kizilay.||Le camere sono moderne , sufficientemente spaziose, insonorizzate, con aria condizionata, TV Led, e soprattutto pulite.||La colazione a buffet varia e abbonbdante è pronta sin dalle sei del mattino. La posizione, come detto, è centrale non lontano dal Mausoleo di Ataturk e dalla Cittadella con il Museo delle Civiltà Anatoliche, due attrazioni di Ankara, secondo noi da non perdere pur per differenti motivi. Il Mausoleo è una sorta di totem per ciascun turco, l'aria che vi si respira è coinvolgente e l'emozione è palpabile comunque, anche per chi non conosce a fondo la storia della Turchia moderna; il Museo, invece, raccoglie le testimonianze dell'antica civiltà degli Ittiti, la cui capitale Hattusa si trova solo a un paio d'ore di auto dalla capitale.||Per gli appassionati i siti archeologici di Hattusa e quello adiacente di Yazilikaia rimangono assolutamente da non perdere. Non fatevi scoraggiare dalla distanza: le strade sono ottime e veloci.
