Inn 14 Hostel — Hotel in Çankaya

Poor excuse for a hostel with the very worst staff I have encountered in 4 years of backpacking. The staff are very unwelcoming, rude and intentionally unhelpful with anything and everything.. We arrived very early (we let them know in advance and they confirmed we could store our bags until check in). They didn't store our bags and made us wait until exactly 2pm (8hours) to check in despite plenty of beds being empty, and the cleaning lady having finished in the rooms hours before (they will say it wasnt ready but the cleaner had not entered the room 2+ hours before they let us check in). The bed in female dorm were available the whole time because only 2 beds were used the previous night. The facilities are in poor condition. The kitchen is not equipped for anything but a drink of water (ie: no mugs, no knives, 2 forks and a kettle that is broken and dangerous - see photo). The company owns other budget hotels and obviously don't know how to make a hostel, or have entrusted it to terrible staff. Showers overflow as drains are clogged, bathrooms always smell. Also there is no social vibe. They have TVs in every bunk (which does not work in a dorm setting/how does this make sense when all other facilities and staff...

We stayed in this hostel last weekend. No doubt i can say it was a terrible experience. We booked a special room on the top floor with high expectations - tripadvisor comments can be misleading sometimes - And saturday we came to the hostel. What a surprise! There was no escalator and the stairs we were very very steep! Anyway, it was an old building and not a five stars hotel for sure. But i had a problem on my knee and asked the receptionist to help me to carry my luggage to the upstairs. But he was "busy" and didn't help me.||||Next morning we have a very fantastic problem in the bathroom. There was no hot water because of the other guests having shower in shared bathroom on the ground floor. I telephoned the reception and they said to me that. It was really tragicomic. The night was really cold and heater core is out of order. There was an air conditioner in the room. But there is Ankara, it is not possible to warm by an air conditioner! We telephoned the reception again and asked for an extra quilt. But they didn't care us. ||||And the second and last night... The toilet flush broke down. We couldn't get to sleep. That stupid water noise was really is irritating. So it was a bad experience, we didn't...

We arrived in hostel at 13.15 but the receptionist said it’s not possible to check in. We left our luggages in the common room, there was no specific place to leave valuable stuff like computers, we had to carry them all day with us. When we came back at 20.30, we carried all luggages to third floor because there was no elevator and no available room in the first floor. ||The receptionist was rude to us because we wanted our friend to wait in the hotel (instead of outside, it was too cold) for 10 minutes till we change our clothes. The receptionist said “it’s not possible because of the concept.” ||The room was quite cold and heater was broken. Also, the toilet was leaking water with an annoying noise.||Our experience wasn’t good at all. I don’t recommend this hotel especially for tourists because I read the information board in English, the fee is different for tourists and they ask money even for towels. Even the fee for local guests is expensive (150 TL for a night for 2 people, don’t pay 60€ for per person) |||P.S. If you are tall, the shower won’t fix and beds are not...
