It was clean, tidy and had a lovely feel to it and was in keeping with the character of the hotel. ||The owners were incredibly welcoming and could not do enough for us. They offered us useful advice on the local area and we're friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.||This is a charming and beautiful boutique hotel. The balcony room is particularly popular, overlooking the pool and garden. Last summer I stayed in the garden room. This time, I got to stay in one of the large double rooms upstairs. My room had an air conditioner and ceiling fan, as well as a small mini-fridge. There is a little balcony, with a view down the quaint street. ||||By coincidence, a few friends of mine from New York were also in town for a wedding when I was there, so I invited them over for tea. The 1882 put out an impressive spread of fruit, pastries, and juices for us to enjoy. ||||Local tip: check out the bazar on Saturdays, down near the tennis club by the highway. The boutique hotel is beautifully decorated, and the owner is extremely hospitable and kind. Our upstairs room had a large balcony with a view of the adjacent street and hotel backyard and pool (not to mention a stunning view of the sunset). The room had A/C, a safe, and a refrigerator in addition to a full size bed for two people. The hotel is a short walk from the main strip of restaurants and shops in Alacati and we had a wonderful dinner out during our stay there.
