In7days ,I tried 4 five star hotels in Istanbul, will say 100 times that this Marriott hotel is the real five star hotel. Because in Istanbul, there are too many hotels marking 5 five star ,but many are faked ones ,AT MOST a luxury BUDGET/Business hotels ,such as the Hilton doubletree hotels .since I lived in ONE OF the Hilton DOUBLETREE ,It is a nightmare, although I’m also the top tier Hilton Member, there are big management problems on the whole Hilton Istanbul. I mean the SERVICE and the customer care. Just take time to leave the reviews to the real Marriott platinum ++members as we always work hard to live in Marriott brand hotels at least 50-90 nights per year to maintain the membership(I maintain by accumulate the nights not by some kind of Credit card),all the efforts and money paid (higher than the 3rd party booking platform ) MUST deserve a good living experience. I often benefit a lot from people’s reviews when looking for a good Marriott brand hotels in the world ,as I live the the hotels about 160-180nights per year. Hotel living experience really matters for me. The Hotel is my second home to some extent. I recommend THIS MARRIOTT in Istanbul area,a real five star hotel. 1. As I said I am also a top member of Hilton,I stayed in Hilton BOMONTI conference,Istanbul,EUROPE side and Hilton doubletree Piyalepasa in Istanbul (this double tree also call themselves 5stars ,but totally shits ,the double tree in Piyalepasa is my nightmare, unquantified 5stars,terrible frontdesk and hotel manager. But the reception girl in this Marriott is really good with standard English 2.the room is clean and maintained very well ,the window can be opened for fresh air. For a hotel built in 2007 it is good. 3.member lounge is bit small, and the seats are not comfortable ,a little bit hard, not good for deeply thinking about the questions. no breakfast in the lounge ,but there is a good dinner for members and the dinner is much better than the lounge in Hilton Bomonti conference hotel in EUROPE side ,most of the staffs in this lounge ,breakfast, the men are at 40-50 years old,are all in suites and serve in proper behavior, excellent!!!in Hilton hotels, all the staff seldom smiles to the guest or say hello,in Hilton, many young staffs ,their mind and heart are not there on working. The staff here provide the real 5star hotel service. Negative:1.the Platinum members have the direct access to the lounge and free breakfast even living in the cheapest room. Although room upgrade is according to availability, but we can easily find if there are suites room available. Here,The deluxe (cheapest)room is the totally same size and amenities as the executive room according to the pictures and description on Marriott website,so upgrade to the executive room, for non member guest ,silver ,gold members,it will be a great benefit, but it is meaningless for Platinum + members,as we have already the access to the lounge and free breakfast ,just the executive rooms are on higher floors,so an executive room at the higher floor or double sizes Suites Room at lower floor, which do you prefer as an executive +platinum member. Especially the outside view are are construction and ware houses(the south and the north side). I was told I’m upgraded,I said a lot of thanks ,hut when I opened the door,i found it is the same room type,in this way why should I say so many thanks?! 2. On the Marriott website,I sent the service request message for extra towels at 9:00pm,maybe they are too busy, till 10:10pm ,no towels Was sent ,and at 10:50,I was sleeping, the room telephone rang,I was totally waken up. and I prefer to live in Asia. The people in Asia are much kinder than people in EU. So if you need visit EUROPE side, not for a conference in EUROPE hotel, time is flexible, from here to EUROPE side ,takes 40 minutes by taxi(better by UBER,and check the bill after getting off,as it happened several times ,when I got off the UBER,the drivers input the amount by themselves, and a much higher amount than the amount when you confirm a...
Read moreEdit: Feb 2024. I recently had two other stays at Istanbul Marriott Hotel Asia, and I cannot thank enough to everyone who contributed making me feel I am “Home Away from Home” this is exactly how I felt with heartfelt touches from each department at the Hotel. First of all I have to thank the restaurant staff especially Oktay bey and Kaan Bey for the special juice they made for me with special recipes. Even though the Hotel does not provide this type of juice, when I mentioned Oktay bey that I had a ginger/fruit juice at another Marriott property he went above and beyond to prepare it for me and letting know Kaan bey for the next day as Oktay bey was going to be off duty. Special thanks to the whole Front desk, to Yunus Emre bey, when I needed some prints, and to Ozge hanim when I needed a vase for the flowers I bought for myself. And the touch Ozge hanim made on my next visit, the surprise in my room. Buse hanim and the rest of the front desk staff, whose names I didn’t have a chance to memorize, thank you! Bellboys, when I arrive and leave the hotel, always there to assist. Thanks to the Housekeeping staff to keep my room tidy! Thanks to the chefs who cook the amazing lounge food every day! Always fresh and traditional. Last but not least I am always grateful for Hasan bey’s hospitality from the executive lounge. Istanbul Asia Marriott is truly my home away from home!
My 19 year old son and I stayed at Istanbul Marriott Hotel Asia last week. I would like to thank Dilan Hanim, Inanc Bey and Hasan Bey at the Executive Lounge for their hospitality. They made our stay unforgettable. I would like to give some feedback about what I liked the most about my stay. The self-parking for hotel guests is free and there is an underground garage for self parking. The rooms are very well maintained and spotless. The beds are very comfortable. The elevators are fast. I didn't have a chance to use the outdoor pool but I could see from my room that it has a very big sun-deck and the pool is very big. I used to be member for their gym when I used to live in Istanbul, and they also have a indoor pool and spa, this time I didn't have time to use them. I will definitely take advantage of them if I have a longer stay, which I am planning on after my experience at this hotel. This hotel has a great location on Asian side of Istanbul and just behind a very nice shopping mall, with lot's of restaurants. There is also a metro station and I think they provide shuttle, I rented a car so I didn't take the shuttle. The lobby area is very spacious. I have stayed at couple of Marriott branded hotels in Istanbul, by far this is one of the best that I have stayed in. Their Executive Lounge happy hour is like a real dinner buffet, and the food that was served all fresh and authentic. Also the wine selection they had in the lounge were great. I also had a chance to enjoy their breakfast buffet. The breakfast had all the elements of a Traditional Turkish breakfast including fresh Simits. The service both in Executive lounge and the breakfast area was excellent. Istanbul Marriott Hotel Asia, will be my number 1 choice to stay on the Asian side of Istanbul next time. I would like to thank everyone working there for their efforts in serving...
Read moreI don’t stay on the Asian side of Istanbul very often, but for what it’s worth after my stay at Istanbul Marriott Asia I can say that this hotel and the other Marriott Bonvoy option on that side of the city (Sheraton Grand Atasehir) are superior to comparable brands on the European side and also benefit from a location discount as well. For people with business to do in that part of the city I can highly recommend Marriott.
I booked the entry level room and was proactively upgraded as Ambassador Elite to an executive suite upon arrival. The suite was of fairly good size 77 square meters and had very nicely done living room and bedroom. The bathroom was not bad but the shower was a bit brittle; in addition I suspect no guest had stayed in that room for quite a while because when we arrived the tap water was orange in the sink and in the bathtub so it was a rare hardware blemish I could observe. The bathroom toiletries were some unknown local brand but that is also the case at Marriott Sisli.
There was no breakfast in the club lounge, instead breakfast was in the restaurant only. However they offered that if we wanted breakfast in the lounge, we could tell them in advance at what time and they would accommodate us for a fully private breakfast – what a great service! The buffet in the restaurant was fairly standard for Turkish hotels and did not stand out positively or negatively.
For happy hour, on some evenings we were all alone so having a mini-buffet seemed to be overkill, in fact at Sheraton Grand Atasehir instead they provide an a la carte menu. The buffet at Marriott had 4 hot choices on a daily rotation and plenty of cold appetizers and desserts. For our baby girl we asked if we could have mashed veggies and they were kind enough to make a special request to the chef who brought mashed broccoli and potatoes to make sure that all guests would have their needs met, even the smallest ones!
By now I have stayed at all full-service Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Istanbul, I am only missing Courtyard and Residence Inn. Based on my experience Marriott Asia compares favorably to others especially if considering the price tag, but location will only work for some travelers. For the Asian side specifically and if staying within Marriott Bonvoy, I preferred the convenience of 1.5 bath in the suite at Sheraton Grand Atasehir rather than only one at Marriott, but Sheraton had too much carpet so there is a...
