I was disappointed with my stay there.
• The rooms are average, worth less then what we paid but it was the last room so they charged extra. The room is small in size and the window is facing a wall. •The bathroom itself isn’t nice but the toiletries they provided were decent. •The bed was comfortable enough, but I felt a bit itchy. •The AC is weak •The neighborhood is not safe, please be aware of this, not just for this hotel but any hotel in this area. It’s the back alleys full of drug dealers, prostitution, possibly gangs, and just a generally unsafe neighborhood. Stick to known roads and don’t wander around this area itself. Make sure your belonging are kept safe. I advise against families staying here, or solo travelers who aren’t used to places like this and aren’t observant. I might sound over dramatic right now but it is a bad neighborhood and for those who aren’t familiar with areas like this, you’re better off staying out of these areas.
•It is nearby Taksim meydan and even though it’s in an unsafe neighborhood the location is easy to access other places that people like to hang around in.
•The breakfast isn’t worth what they charge, it’s one boiled egg, two thin slices of cheese the size of two fingers, two slices of bologna a bit smaller than the size of my palm, 5 olives, one cherry tomato and two round slices of a cucumber (probably used one cucumber for everyone there) along with those small packages of butter, syrup that supposed to taste like honey, and one packet that had a different type of cheese. They also provide bread. You’ll enjoy better breakfast elsewhere for prices similar if not less. They also have self serve tea (don’t drink the tea it’s horrible), orange juice, and milk. They also provide two selections of cereals with the milk. If you want them to serve you the drinks as well act like a you’ve never poured a cup of tea for yourself in your like, and being western and also intimidating helps (see below experience for reference)
• We we’re discriminated against during breakfast. They serve breakfast themselves and tell you to sit while they bring you a plate. We had arrived to breakfast and there were already 4 plates ready to be served. They were busy doing something else in the kitchen while we waited. Everyone else had already been served so we waited as we were next. Then some other guests came which they suddenly started smiling and acting extra polite even though the guests themselves seemed a bit picky and unsatisified. They served them breakfast plates immediately and started getting them different bread and clean glasses etc. We didn’t say anything and waited politely. The next guest came in (an intimidating guy with his tall blonde significant other) they rushed to have them seated and went to the table to ask for there order. They proceeded to make them Turkish coffee and scrambled eggs and bring them plates for breakfast. There were two people working for breakfast and both of them seemed fixated on serving them.
(We have been waiting for 30 minutes for our plates of breakfast and they haven’t even come by us once) We then began to mention how we haven’t recieved breakfast even though we’ve arrived 30 minutes before these guests waiting for a simple plate of breakfast. They then apologize and few minutes later serve ya breakfast (of course forgetting any bread or even forks, we recieved them also another five minutes later after asking, and let me remind you the breakfast area is extremely small in this boutique hotel so it’s not like they had to run into an actual kitchen to go get it)
We then asked if we could also receive scrambled eggs and they said the man had asked for scrambled eggs and they had already provided us with the ready breakfast stating “the man doesn’t like boiled eggs”
Extremely disappointed in their behavior. After we called them out they apologized for there behavior stating they didn’t mean to do so intentionally, they just...
Read moreDeplorable and a total sham is how I would start describing the hotel. It should be stripped of any stars if it has any. The pictures posted on the website are not real - far from the real deal. We had many problems with the heater - it didn't work any of the 6 nights we spent there. Only on the fourth night, someone handed us a space heater. They said someone was coming to fix the central heating but it never happened. The front desk staff always gave us a disdainful look, only two of them -the cleaning lady and one of the men who spoke a little English and tried to help us with transportation from and to the airport - treated us with some cordiality. Monotonous, unimpressive, and repetitious is how we can describe their breakfast. And the people working in the restaurant on the second floor clearly don't care what you think. The room was moldy and smelled like a 'dirt-wet cat'. We do not and will never recommend anyone to stay at this... 'place'. (We cannot call it a hotel). We were there from December 29 - 2024...
Read moreEven though I was skeptic at first when booking the hotel for our stay there, when I left I was extremely happy. First, the rooms were very clean and that cleanliness was constantly maintained, not to mention that the beds were VERY comfortable. Second, the staff were very, very friendly, from the moment we checked until our check out, we really felt at home, they constantly went out of their way to help us, they even upgraded our room. The hotel's location is both good and bad. Good because of its close proximity to Taksim Square which means easy and quick access to public transportation, bad because of the steep street on which the hotel resides (but most of Istanbul is like that so it's not really a bad thing?). The breakfast was modest but still nice. All in all, as someone who spent most of their stay in Istanbul exploring the city all day, and just needed a nice and clean place to sleep, I am %100 satisfied...
