An absurdely overrated and overpriced joke.
I guess my review won’t be read anyway, because it doesn’t address the target group of this place: village people with some sort of wealth who want a night out in Istanbul, but actually don’t feel comfortable with connecting with the impressively cosmopolitan vibe of this great city. No offense to village people, I am one myself, it’s rather the synonym of low level people who think that expensive things must be cool and impress others. It seems that it became famous because some pseudo celebrities showed up there, which you don’t know or care about as a tourist.
Ok, the food is not bad, but the rest absolutely does not live up to the expectations, which the totally overpriced menu promotes.
The restaurant has the flair of a döner kebab fast food place. The interior, the plates, the way the waiters behave. My drink was served in an old and dirty glass that my grandma would have dumped in the 70s already. Although they have plates for over 100€ on the menu, they can’t even afford proper napkins, instead you have Imbiss-style see-through paper napkins (I think even the Burger King next doors has better ones).
The waiters and the ambiance give you the feeling of being in some fast food restaurant or at best canteen. They don’t know basic rules, were not trained and mostly stood around in a “waiter crowd” of some 10 people somewhere next to the entrance. Weird!
On top, It’s some 3x as much as you’d pay in fancier, better, cozier places.
What hurts most is not the money but the wasted time that we could have spend on a much nicer dinner!
If me, as a German, already complain this way, I imagine that a French or Italian who naturally cares a lot more about food and the whole experience at a restaurant, would just be disgusted by the...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences in a popular food chain, was our first time and we had very high expectations for the food but when we recieved our order, only the kebap plate was ok and the sislik was tasteless, but what really surprised us was the lamb chops! They were served pouring blood!! We requested them to take it back as it was disgusting. The manager " Muhsen" came with a very rude and disrespectful attitude using hand gestures saying that uncooked/ returned food won't be canceled whether you eat it or not and that it's not the restaurant's fault that we don't eat meduim cooked meat- minding that we were not informed prior that the lamb chops are usually served like that- with blood pouring on the plate, all he cared about is that the payment will be done whether we want the food or not and he did not even bother appologizing for the bad experience we had which was the cherry on top for us and we left the place immediately after paying as we couldn't stand the arrogance and the attitude, leaving all the ordered food behind as it was tasteless!
Overall, I don't recommend this restaurant at all and the restaurant manager's " Muhsen" doesn't reflect the turkish hospitality at all, as he did not even care when I told him that we will be taking this higher up. He swung his hand saying "Okay okay, do...
Read moreIt Located in the beginning of Taksim street, just a door where it will guide you to some steps to the 1st floor. The atmosphere of the restaurant was beautiful, an old building innovated to a restaurant with many nice paintings. The food was so delicious, We ordered: eggplant with tomato sauce for starter (amazing 10 out of 10) eggplant with tahinia past (sesame seed past) that was great too (8 out of 10) Lamp chops, very soft and tender (9 out of 10) mix grill, so delicious, a lot of food (enough for two) rate 9 out of 10
They have grill chicken cover with salt, we didn’t order it, but they said it’s delicious and worth to try it, its enough for 4 to 5 people and cost round $32.
The cost of our meal was a bit high, round $80 (include soft drinks and bread), but worth it for the environment and the nice food.
Some of the dishes are costly, so do check the cost of each dish before you order, as you may cost you a fortune without you realize. Note that the grill meat is always make you feel full very fast, so don’t order a lot.
The staff were nice and smiling with high class service The restaurant is suitable for family/ couples/ kids and friends, but it might not be suitable for disable, as I didn’t see elevators around (the restaurant is...
