Visited Barracuda on Thursday 18th July.
We were welcomed upon arrival, and promptly given drinks and food menus. We ordered drinks straight away as it had been a melting hot day, and also a starter, while we decided on mains.
We shared a starter off small rolls and dips (ezme I think it was called?) Was very nice, and a great wee nibble to begin with.
I ordered steak, mash, veg, and peppercorn sauce. I asked to change the veg for just onions and mushrooms. The waiter advised they couldn't do mushrooms (??) but could give me some caramelised onions. OK, perfect. My wife ordered prawn linguine.
My steak arrived, with chips, not mash, gravy, not peppercorn, and a small amount of onions. I'm not one to complain, and do like chips with a steak. Mash would have been a nice change tho. I also usually have peppercorn, so again, gravy was a change.
The steak was great, 10/10, no complaints. The chips... so so. Hand cooked, but in my opinion, could have done with a wee bit longer. Onions were great, just not enough of them. I enjoyed it, but it could have been better. My wife's Prawn dish, 11/10! Top marks and her joint best meal of our 11nights in Ovacik. (The other joint, Pepediz Steakhouse)
Overall, a nice meal. Cost wise, it was £69, with 2 Efes, 2 Moscato wine, and two desserts (salted caramel geleto, with Baileys) and Baklava, both of which were great. Not at all bad. Not as cheap as Turkey once was, but still good value for money. Service was also great, along with live music as we...
Read moreHad heard good things about this place and took the walk slightly off the main strip to check it out.
Glad we did! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and classy, and the food far exceeded my expectations. My wife’s garlic prawn and my hummus and falafel starter were very good and the small warm rolls was a nice change from the relentless balloon breads elsewhere.
We both had pasta for main course, chicken and mushroom linguine for my wife and the seafood tagliatelle for me. Both were excellent; all of the seafood in my dish was cooked well and the sauce in particular was delicious. Correct sized portions, I was full but wasted nothing.
We opted for desert too which is unusual for us here. My baclava was great, a favourite of mine in Turkey, and my wife’s cheesecake with hot caramel sauce was decadent!
The 3 course dinner with a beer each was a bargain at £60.
Not sure we’re going to make it back before we fly home but I will 100% be back next time we’re in...
Read moreA must visit for anyone wanting seafood or a high class meal. Staff were very welcoming, and the food, well that blew me away. Surd and turf were ordered, and steak was medium rare and done to perfection. I was a little underwalmed at first when it came out as I was expecting baby potatoes or chips. I'm so glad it didn't come with either. Spaghetti hiding underneath complimented the creamy sauce to perfection.
Starter ordered was jumbo King prawn. It was a lot larger than expected but so tasty. Would definitely recommend.
We were a party of 7 and no booking was required. Food was enjoyed by all with no complaints even by the...
