My family and I have just returned back from a fantastic holiday in Turkey. We did not stay at the PIne Valley Hotel, we simply visited for the day which cost £30 per family. The £30 is loaded onto a card which can then be used for food and drink. This seemed like great value so all 11 of us decided to go. One of the main things that attracted us to this hotel for the day was the 3 slides, having 5 children between us, this was sure to be a winner.
Upon arrival we loaded 3 cards, one for each of our families and one of the employees managed to scrape together 6 beds near the slides for us to share. We also noted that next to the silde pool was a childrens club, handy for getting the little ones out of the sun for an hour or 2.
On first impressions the pool, surrounding area, and poolside toilets did not appear clean or well maintained. The gents toilet had broken furniture, was generally dirty, and had a broken toilet. The area leading down to the slide pool had a strong smell of sewage, which I assumed was due to the toilets being directly below the stairs. The pool side showers were very dirty, covered in mould, and had a foul smell.
The slides have 2 time slots. 10:45 to 12:00 then 14:30 to 16:00. The pool at the bottom of the slides can be used when slides are not in use, although its quite shallow, it did the trick.
The children (and adults) really enjoyed the slides, the only thing to note was they closed 5 minutes early on both occasions. There is 1 life guard on duty at the top of the slides, but no life guard at the bottom. There is no clear visibility from the top of the slides of the bottom so guests were left to decide when it was safe to go down the slides.
Ordering food is a little clunky as you cannot simply go up to the bar and order. You have to stand around and try and collar one of the employees wondering around the notepads. Its also worth noting this is a cashless hotel so you are unable to pay for anything using debit cards or cash at the bar. Money is loaded onto a hotel card at reception which appears to be the only methods of payment. Once an order is taken, the employee takes the card and someone behind the bar has the job of deducting money from guests cards. The card is then brought back to you once this has been done.
We ordered food and most of it came out with one incorrect meal. We had a challenge getting one of the employees to understand that one meal needed to be change and after a few google translate exchanges using a phone, one of the meals was sent back. A few minutes later, another employee returned and said if we wanted the last meal we needed to load more money onto the card. This could only be done at reception. After all of this, we managed to get all meals, and the food was pretty good.
Before we left, we ordered one ice lolly and a tub of ice cream. Due to the lack of english speaking employees this was extremely difficult. It took 5 employees to understand that we wanted an ice lolly (from one side of the bar) and an ice cream (from the other side of the bar) and wanted to pay for them together.
The major problems started the 2 days after our visit to this hotel. 4 out of the 5 children developed ear infections and 1 adult within our party became ill. We are almost certain that due to the lack of cleanliness at this hotel, these issues were caused by bacteria in the water.
I would not recommend this hotel based on its lack of cleanliness, poor maintence, and low service. Its also worth noting that food and drink was much more expensive...
Read moreWe went as a family with a 5 year old and stayed here between 9th July - 14th July.
The good:
Excellent location, 10 minute walk from the strip. Our room location was excellent, we were downstairs right by the kids pool which was super handy. Rooms are quiet and as you are considerably away from the main strip, you don't hear the noise from the bars. Food is reasonably priced at the hotel and you get a good variety. Staff are welcoming and always ready to help, special shout out to Harry, Umut and Magri. The British lady at the front reception was very friendly and pleasure to speak to, she takes big pride and providing good customer service. They even arranged a little birthday set up with balloons, table decor and a cake for me. We had the grill buffet dinner which was £20 quid per person, well worth the money. This was followed by entertainment at the night which was excellent.
Improvements:
We stayed in the Family room which had a bedroom, and the lounge area was turned into multiple beds, whilst this was great, the area had no air conditioning, making it difficult some nights to sleep. The AC is only limited to the main bedroom. Kids Pool Area - They have to put up signs for people to stop smoking / vaping in the kids pool area. I flagged this one day but nothing was done, this has to be a priority for the hotel. Wi-Fi is weak / non-existent in the bedroom. The room itself was ok but had a massive wet patch / mold in the wall in the bedroom. Could do with some refurbishments. Water slides were only open at certain times of the day, I did think they could have increased the duration of this particularly in the afternoon when it's hot and kids / adults just wanted a nice dip.
Overall, our experience at the hotel was very positive, we would definitely return back and stay here given how convenient the location is, the staff are lovely, and overall it is a perfect place...
Read moreWe were a wedding party of 21 (adults and children) and booked Pine Valley back in March after reading many positive reviews. As our trip approached, we noticed some more recent reviews that were less favourable, which naturally left us feeling a little apprehensive about what to expect. However, we needn’t have worried.||Hotel & Staff|Pine Valley is a wonderful hotel, ideally located and offering a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are truly exceptional — some of the best I have ever encountered. Our holiday experience was made all the more special thanks to Maggie, whose assistance and dedication went above and beyond throughout our stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her.||I would also like to extend our thanks to Jimmy, who made a fantastic impression on the children, particularly in the evenings when he would sit by the fire roasting marshmallows with them. His friendliness and effort created memories our group will truly cherish.||Rooms|We had a mixture of older and newer rooms. The only slight negative would be that the older rooms could benefit from better lighting, as they felt quite dark at times, which made getting ready on an evening a little tricky. That said, the maids worked tirelessly to keep the rooms spotless and well-maintained throughout our stay.||Food|The food at the hotel is lovely, with plenty of variety and good portion sizes. Nothing was too much trouble for the restaurant staff, and any requests were handled with a smile. I would definitely recommend trying the chicken basket , it was delicious!||Overall|We had a fantastic experience at Pine Valley and would not hesitate to recommend it to others. Thank you to all the staff for helping make our wedding trip...
