If the name of the hotel was something other than Hilton, I wouldn't care so much, but it doesn't suit the name and price. We have never had such a lowly stay in any hotel. We were very saddened to experience the worst accommodation at the Garden Inn, including the boutique hotels in the coastal towns I have ever stayed in. I've been to so many hilton garden hotels. I can say this was the worst. We went to visit Konya, we stayed for 4 days. I had a Hilton hotel experience, no different from a hostel in coastal towns. When you look from the outside, except for the rooms, the hotel in general looks stylish and new. The lobby is also very stylish, comfortable and spacious. There's a small fitness room built just to say it exists. Indoor parking is available and free. Since the hotel is on the side of a busy road, you can hear all your vehicle sounds. There were nights when I woke up to the sounds of vehicles outside many times until the morning due to a bad isolation. No one accompanies you when you first go to the room. They give the entrance card at the reception and send it. The room furniture is old, it's time to change. The windows do not open fully and the air conditioner hardly works. There is no balcony. Bathroom ventilation is in deplorable condition. The cabinets were dusty. All the supplies in the room were scarce. Slippers are missing, soap is missing, there is shampoo, no conditioner. I said to the lady at the reception, can you put no conditioner? He said that things like that are not put in anymore, you have to go and get extra. The room was also available on the first day, I said it needed to be renewed. He said let me call the housekeeper if there is any conditioner. Then I said yes, there is conditioner and he said they will give you too much. It was obvious that it was unnecessary for me to talk more about the situation with the person who gave such an unconscious answer, I said "Okay" and left. You put the employee at the reception who does not know what is happening in the hotel yet. As far as I understand, the communication of the staff with each other is not good. There is no such inexperienced management. There is a general disinterest in the staff. If you ask, it answers, otherwise there is no information. But some customers are cherished for some reason. I don't understand why this attitude. The breakfast room was also stylish. Options for buffet breakfast could be expanded. I found it incomplete as I compared it to other hotels I stayed in during the year. There wasn't even a single french fries. I guess this place is not touristic but rather a business hotel. Not much like a Hilton hotel. The hotel has its own taxi stand at the entrance. I am sure that there are much more affordable and better quality hotels...
Read moreWhilst Staying at Hilton Garden Inn Isparta the family had become unwell and had almost recovered. We had to postpone our check in by a day so that the family could recover. Hilton Isparta called and spoke to a member of staff at Konya Hilton and was told it can not be changed. Thereafter I called personally and they were kind enough to delay my check in and check out by a day. I was assisted by Omer.
After checking in we found the family room a little bit small so I spoke to Omer, he was kind enough to say he will see what he can do. Shortly after he said he had allocated us a bigger room which was much more comfortable.
Travelling with 3 babies also meant I needed to use the microwave at times. Omer personally took the food to the restaurant to warm it up and bring it to the room.
As a Hilton Gold member and frequent traveller, I always feel the need to give feedback to ensure that customer service is always a priority. Sometimes the feedback is good and sometimes not so good. This occasion Omer really stood out and made it an amazing experience. I hope that his customer service is recognised and he is nominated for an award/promotion of some sort.
Also Irfan who is the restaurant manager was very kind and helpful, even when the restaurant was closed he delivered food to the room personally 2x (pictured amazing burger meal). I really am amazed by the service by these 2 people specifically, especially Omer. I also was impressed by the push to recycle and consistent push for feedback to improve further.
Zeynap was extremely helpful and welcoming also. She was well spoken and very professional with great customer service skills.
Shahin also were very well spoken and had a decent level of service and a willingness to help.
Finally I would like to commend Hasan who is the GM and was definitely setting a high standard for his staff to work up to. He listened well to feedback and was able to advice accordingly. He really is a good ambassador for the Hilton Brand. Well done I definitely will be returning to this hotel when I next visit.
Areas for improvement are:
In this review, I will only mention about what Hilton needs to improve so that it could have been better and what Hilton did good.
Main lobby - There was parts with lights off. Maybe those sections were closed. Put a barricade to show that the section is closed. It makes better sense to guests. Dimly lit or shadowed areas doesn't project confidence, instead it makes me feel uninvited, cold and even dodgy! It's THE Hilton, not some unknown brand. Give it some glory.
2nd floor corridor - Again, it is so dimly lit that it looks like a scene from some horror movie. Coupled with the flickering light in the lift, had my imagination on overdrive. I get that you want to save energy, but compare it to 1st floor, the white lights achieved the same purpose but with better results.
Room - I am fairly delighted that it was spacious and provided ample space to move around even with 2 big luggages. Hey! The door needs some fixing, every it slams shut (no more gentle closing). It gives me a heart attack and it disturbs the comforting rest I was enjoying.
Room toilet - what happened to toothbrush and such? The toilet paper, please do better. It stuck to my wet skin. Also Hilton commited the mistake of most hotels did. Leaking shower hose. It doesn't cost a lot to change and if bought in bulk, probably cost lesser than your water loss. Housekeeping could be a very good source of information.
The Shop was a very novel idea. Given your geographical location, you could widen your choice of selection for snacks and maybe even instant food.
The All Day Dining - I had the pleasure of 2 breakfast, it served amazing local cuisines, the selection of cheese I think out numbered my fingers, not to mention the fruits too. Again, here the lighting should improve to give life to the food displayed. You need lights strategically placed to bring out the colors of the food and make it appealing to guest. The dull setting didn't inspire me to go beyond the eggs and bread. Oh of course the cheese too.
Overall, I give 4 stars because it was just the lightings that Hilton needs to improve. Change to LEDs, it will save energy and easy on the bank.
Also, the ironing board was found damaged in my room. Oh! This hotel provides coin laundry and free dryer for your...
