Hotel Terrace Beach Resort — Hotel in Manavgat

I stayed at the terrace beach hotel, all inclusive for 14nights.. 9 of us for week 1 then 6 of us for week 2!||If your an English visitor looking at staying here i would STRONGLY urge you to reconsider! The staff do not speak English and those that do, speak the bare bare minimum. German is there go too language as the hotel caters for what it seems to be mainly German tourists. The staff can come across so rude when trying to communicate with them as they don’t understand you and you dont understand them. ||The other tourists here are extremely rude they seem to think they have some kind of superiority, the way they look at you when your walking around the hotel, or trying to get up in a lift. ( i was waiting for the lift with my son in the buggy and some people came and basically stood infront of me to get in the lift as if i was invisible) they lack any consideration or manners and when you pull them up on it they act as if they don’t understand, and this seems to be 95% of the people staying here. Nobody trys to mingle or even smile at you unless your German too. ||All the childrens entertainment is in German they speak to the audience in German first and then they reiterate it in English but its mainly aimed at them, my nearly 3 year old loves all the dancing and entertainment you would normally get but as he didn’t have a clue (besides baby shark) found it all extremely boring and would rather go play in the park ( which also isn’t lit in the evening so be prepared to play in darkness).||As for this you don’t get that welcoming Turkish vibe, they dont make you feel very welcomed or inclusive when your around the hotel. ( i have been going to Turkey all my life and haven’t had an experience quite like it! this is my first time to this part and will probably be my last!) Its the same outside the hotel too. ||The restaurant staff aren’t very attentive, there is no order in there at all, nobody greets you to enter or seats you, its a free for all and if you find a seat dont expect it to be laid and ready, i lost count the amount of times i asked for a table of 6/9 to be shrugged off or told to come back later, if i did find a table i had to get my own cutlery or napkins and baby seat even though there are many staff members walking around that can see what it is your trying to do.||As it claims to be a 5 star hotel you would expect better food, they have themed nights and it all looks amazing but doesn’t taste particularly of anything, even the authentic turkish dishes they provide are nothing like they should be. The drinks aren’t great either, there selection is minimal ( and always tends to taste flat, and the fruit juice tastes far to sweet and artificial) it doesn’t include cocktails or spirits other than the local watered down rubbish!| |The rooms are very small (standard room) and as we had two beds put together one mattress was ok the other was like sleeping on a rock it was so uncomfortable. I noticed the cleaners came daily but weren’t actually changing the towels daily when they were left in a pile to be changed, the dirty ones were being refolded and put back out! ||The gentleman on the beach ( i think hes in charge of sorting out the beds) is so rude! We had pulled our beds out from under the sails to be in the sun and he kept pestering us to move them back as it wasn’t allowed for some reason (in what little English he had) there were over 20 other people who had done the same but he kept on ignoring them and telling us to move back, he eventually left us alone as we continuously ignored him. I also came down to put some towels down one morning, there was a t-shirt on a bed and the bed next to it was empty so i placed my towel there, he came over and told me i needed to move my towel as it was reserved for two, when the bed i had placed my towel on had nothing on it. I explained everyone who wanted a bed had placed a towel on it or an item to claim it you cant place a t-shirt on a bed and reserve the ones next to it also it doesn’t work like that, after some back and forth he said im not getting involved on his translating app and walked off. I personally think if u tip the right staff you get what it is you want.. towels on the sunbeds, better drink service. ||When going out in the evening locally to the hotel and walking passed shops/restaurants the assumption is that your German so your being called at and ushered into places not understanding a word that’s being spoken, and they don’t even try to speak English. ||We kept to ourselves for the holiday only meeting two other English familys who were of the same opinions as us about their stay here. I would have liked to have had a much better experience visiting a country i love so much, but unfortunately that was not the case and for that i can’t...

Ich war dieses Jahr im August mit meiner Frau und meiner Tochter zum ersten Mal im Terrace Beach Resort und wir würden unseren Aufenthalt als "ok" bezeichnen. Als wir ankamen und eincheckten, musste ich schnell feststellen das das Personal an der Rezeption nicht unbedingt das freundlichste war. Wir wurden quasi nebenbei abgefertigt, während der Mitarbeiter noch mit anderen Arbeiten beschäftigt war. Unser wurde auch nur das minimalste an Informationen zugeteilt, eigentlich musste man alles selber herausfinden (Wo sind Bars, Restaurants, etc, wo bekomme ich Handtücher, wo ist der Wellnesbereich, etc.). Als wir auf dem Zimmer ankamen waren wir doch etwas enttäuscht. Die Zimmer waren sauber, keine Frage allerdings wirkte unser Zimmer doch etwas Renovierungsbedürftig. Alles wirkte sehr alt und in die Jahre gekommen. Wir mussten auch zweimal unsere Zimmerkarten tauschen da diese während des Aufenthaltes einfach nicht mehr funktionierten. Auch die Klimatisierung außerhalb der Lobby war in meinen Augen mangelhaft (auch auf dem Zimmer). Trotz das wir zu dritt, mit unsere 4-Jährigen Tochter angereist sind, bekamen wir nur zwei Handtuchkarten (was ich nicht verstehen konnte, da auch unsere Tochter gerne eine eigene Liege hätte).|Das W-Lan bzw. Internet in der Anlage war somit das schlechteste was ich jemals erleben durfte. Ich konnte teilweise nicht mal eine WhatsApp Nachricht versenden und man hat ständig die Verbindung verloren. Ohne mobile Daten wäre es sehr trüb geworden. Der Pool war tatsächlich wirklich gut, im Vergleich zu anderen Anlagen etwas klein aber immerhin sauber. Das Kinderbecken war meines Erachtens viel zu kalt und wurde scheinbar nicht einmal während unseres Aufenthaltes gereinigt. Der Strandabschnitt war wirklich sehr schön und einfach zu erreichen. Was mich allerdings sehr genervt hat war, dass viele Liegen tatsächlich schon sehr früh am Morgen von Gästen reserviert wurden. Wir hatten es auch eine Zeit lang beobachtet das viele Gäste die Ihre Liegen reservieren erst viele Stunden später aufschlagen. Dem Personal im Hotel scheint sowas ziemlich egal zu sein, weshalb wir jeden Morgen verzweifelt ein paar Liegen suchen mussten.|Das Essen im Hotel selber würde ich als mittelmäßig bezeichnen. Positiv hervorzuheben ist, dass man nie vor einer Leeren Schale/Schüssel stehen musste. auch gab es eine Vielzahl verschiedener Gerichte und auch die Variation an verschiedenen Tagen war sehr gut. Da ich aber ein Riesen Fleisch-Freund bin wurde ich hier schwer enttäuscht. Die Auswahl war zwar groß (Hähnchen, Rind, Putenfleisch, Lamm, Truthan) aber jedes einzelne Stück Fleisch hat absolut gleich geschmeckt. am Ende des Urlaubs konnte ich das Essen auch nicht mehr riechen (Leider war unser Zimmer scheinbar direkt über der Küche da wir auf dem Balkon das Essen den ganzen Tag gerochen haben). Auch andere Gerichte waren teilweise gar nicht oder kaum gewürzt. Hier hat man die "Massenabfertigung" beim Essen deutlich gespürt. Einige Bedienungen waren auch sehr unfreundlich und haben sich kaum dafür interessiert ob man noch etwas trinken wollte. Andere wiederum waren dafür etwas aufmerksamer.|Was mich auch sehr genervt hat waren die teilweise aufdringlichen Animatoren. Uns wurden sehr aufdringlich und auf höchst nervende Art irgendwelche Tombola-Lose aufgeschwatzt, die wir nach langem diskutieren (eigentlich wollten wir keine) einfach für viel Geld gekauft haben um am Ende zu erfahren das wir diese gar nicht einlösen können. Das hat mich echt sauer gemacht! Das Animationsprogramm fand ich am ersten Tag noch sehr gut aber da es sich täglich wiederholt und ständig das gleiche passiert wird es irgendwann schnell langweilig.|Ein weitere Punkt der mich sehr genervt hat waren die verschiedenen Leute auf dem Hotelgelände, die einem was verkaufen wollten (Fotografen, Tätowierer, Massagen, etc.). Mir ist bewusst, dass wenn ich das Hotel verlasse und auf den Markt gehel, dass ich von vielen Händlern angesprochen werde die einem was Verkaufen wollen. Da wir genau das aber nicht wollten, haben wir das Gelände auch kaum verlassen. Deshalb fande ich es umso nerviger jeden Tag von irgendwem am Pool oder Strand genervt zu werden. Auf dem Markt hat man den Vorteil das man einfach weggehen kann wenn man es nicht haben will. Aum Pool oder Strand kann ich aber nicht einfach gehen wenn sich jemand direkt zu einem auf die Liege setzt. Vor allem der Tattoo-Kerl war wirklich nervig und aufdringlich! |Wir hatten uns auch breitschlagen lassen an einem Fotoshooting auf dem Gelände teilzunehmen. Die Fotografen waren zwar nett und Kompetent aber die Fotos waren dafür viel zu überteuert.|Das Kinderprogramm (Mini-Disco) war für uns am zweiten Tag auch ein schönes Erlebnis aber auch hier mussten wir schnell feststellen das es jeden Abend das gleiche war. Es gab nicht einmal eine Variation in der Auswahl der Kinderlieder. Für uns als Eltern war es schon am dritten Tag sehr sehr langweilig unsere kleine hat es Gott sei dank nicht gestört.|Die Fotos welche man hier auf der Seite sieht und generell im Internet findet sind schon sehr akkurat. |Wir hatten im großen und ganzen zwar ein schönes Erlebnis aber auch nur, weil wir uns die Zeit hier selber schön gemacht haben. Wir haben für uns selbst beschlossen, dass diese Art von Urlaub uns nicht gefallen hat, da alles sehr voll war und die anderen Gäste doch sehr Rücksichtslos waren (unsere Tochter wurde einige male sehr knapp umgerannt). Von der Kinderfreundlichkeit der uns im Vorfeld so viele berichtet haben, haben wir nicht wirklich viel gemerkt. Viele Angestellte haben sich zwar Mühe gegeben aber man hat schnell gemerkt das auch das nur aufgesetzt ist. Sollten wir uns dennoch für einen weiteren Urlaub dieser Art entscheiden, würden wir aber definitiv ein anderes...

I have travelled all over Turkey for the past 20 years and love the country and the people but I have never stayed anywhere quite like this. I did not even feel as if I was even in Turkey enjoying the Turkish culture or hospitality, it was as if I had gone to Germany which in its self isn’t a bad country but if I had wanted to go there I would have booked there. EVERYTHING was aimed at German speaking travellers – signs, entertainment etc, I would say 98% of the staff could only speak German and it was there 1st interaction with you, I would have at least expected staff to speak to guests in Turkish in the 1st instance as it was supposed to be a multinational hotel. |A 5* hotel this is not, at best & being generous I would give it a 3. Towels in the rooms not being changed on a regular basis and dirty towels being folded and hung back up. Numerous amount of time I had to go to change them myself off of the maids trollies. The food in the hotel had no flavour and was mainly over cooked so we ate out most of the time, on the rare occasion we ate in the restaurant we had to wait long times for a table and when we did get one we had to obtain our own cutlery & waiters very disinterested in taking any drinks requests. Definitely not what I would expect from a 5 hotel.|The restaurants in the area are all over priced and we had paid more than we do for a eating out in London, I wouldn’t have minded so much if the food was fantastic but there was only a couple of places we hadn’t sent food back as it was either off or didn’t taste of anything.|I would recommend other regions of Turkey to visit - Marmaris, Izmir, Cappadocia, Istanbul, Fethiye & Oludeniz to name but a few. I will never be returning to Hotel Terrace Beach Resort in Antalya-Side, even if...
