We arrived late at night and were greeted by a very friendly guy on reception. He arranged a nite to eat for us all after our luggage was taken to our room by the bellboy.||As a family of 5 we were given a duplex mezzanine room which was fantastic for us. A living room with sofa bed and small table and chairs. A spacious twin room and shower room and and a mezzanine level with double bed, dressed and second bathroom.|The room had 2 balconies. A small julliete balcony and a bigger corner balcony with table and chairs.|The rooms were kept spotless by the maids who came daily.||FOOD:|Mixed review on breakfast from us. My partner and kids lived it were as I didn't enjoy it so much. I wasn't expecting a full English as I know they don't eat pork however there were German wurst style sausages which I can't imagine were made from other meat.|Omelettes are made fresh to order with your choice of filling and there is a large sandwich press to make your own cheese toastie.|Fresh pancakes which the kids loved and a selection of cold meats and cheese.|Pretty much the exact same selection every day.|Lunch and dinner were much better and although a little repetitive after the first few days there was always something to suit everyone. Always fresh meats straight from the grill and delicious salads. Soup was really good too, lovely fresh breads to slice yourself. And a station with fresh flatbread with various toppings straight out of the bread oven. ||The pool area was great. Not too busy and really clean. Kids loved the slides which are open daily 10-12 and 2-4 There is a lifeguard on duty there during these times.|No bother getting sunbeds even later in our stay when the hotel started to get full.|The beach is lovely and plenty of beds there also.|Don't bother taking up space in your luggage with towels as these are all provided. Beach towels can be swapped for fresh every day between 5 & 6pm.||The bars serve a small but good selection of cocktails and the beer and spirits are good too.||Evening entertainment is at the sister hotel which is connected by a small tunnel. We all enjoyed the night time shows especially the magic show, Bruno mars show and the fire show.|The animation team di a great job.|There is water polo and beach volley ball every day except Sunday. Also beer pong a couple of times. |Sandra dies a great aqua fit class most afternoons.||The surrounding area is full of shops selling really good quality fakes at great prices and all the shopkeepers are open to a good haggle so plenty of bargains to be had.|Only a couple of bars. Bistro 2000 being the best with great cocktails and shows all football games.||The overall atmosphere is pretty chilled at the hotel as all entertainment is at the sister hotel but that suited us just fine as we could just nip over to take part if we wanted with no pressure.||Yes the hotel is geared at the German market and we were 1 if only 2 English families but we go away to spend quality time as a family not to make friends so this really wasn't a problem for us at all although maybe little strange.||The overall service of the great staff are what makes this hotel great and they all do a fantastic job. We would definitely return.|| ||The...
Read moreI visited the villa side with my husband and another couple for 2 weeks. The hotel is nice, clean but there were a few issues that could have made it, and our stay better. The villa side hotel is in the Kumkoy district of side, across the road from its partner hotel the villa residence hotel. It is a 10 minute dolmus ride (3 lira) and a further 10 walk into side old town which is very beautiful. The hotel has its own stretch of beach which is less than a 5 minute walk, there is also a shuttle service if needed. Around the hotel is a selection of shops selling copies of designer brand trainers, clothing, bags ect, there is also a couple of bars but they are few and far between, probably due to most of the hotels in the area being all inclusive.|The restaurant and bars in the hotel are nice, with comfortable seating to while away the time if you can bear the heat, we asked for the air con to be put on a few times but members of staff told us the manager had said no to put it on. The bar serves Effes the local beer which is fine, they also serve local brand spirits, wine and a small selection of cocktails, i would like to give a special mention to Melike, who works in the bar in the evenings, she is very helpful and friendly. The food is fairly good, like all AI it does get repetative when staying for 2 weeks but we always found something. The waiting staff are all very attentive. Please bear in mind this hotel is geared up for its main clients who are german so some of the food is a bit different than what we are used to. We were the only english people in the hotel for most of our stay.|Our room was of a decent size, and furnished comfortably, it was serviced and cleaned daily. Our room faced onto the main road which can get quite noisey, the balcony was tiny and the balcony furniture uncomfortable and could do with being replaced. I would recommend asking for a room on the other side of the hotel facing the beach. The room had air con, a fridge with water and soda water, and a safe. The bathroom although small was perfectly adequate, there was always plenty hot water and clean towels, there was also a hairdryer. Our only complaints about the room was there is only one electric socket and we were next door to a mezzanine room and the noise when they used the stairs was terrible.|There is no daily activities at this hotel, if you want to join in games they take place at the villa residence or the beach. We had evening entertainment once during our stay, all the other shows were at the villa residence, we didnt go to any as they were presented in german. The pool area is nice and we never had an issue getting a sunbed as a lot of people seem to prefer the beach, beach towels are supplied and can be exchanged at reception daily between 5...
Read moreWe stayed 11 days in this hotel. 2 adults and 2 kids (4 years and 1 year).||Our impressions are very mixed.||||First at all I would say tis hotel has Germans in the first place. Most guest are germans. If you don't speak german waiters don't pay attention about you. Most of them don't speak English at all. Some of them understand but don't know to answear. No of them smile! Even maid who doesn't understant at all was much more pleasant and simpathetic than waiters. So sad.||||Secondly the food. There is great selection BUT most of the food in hotel restaurant is some kind of "one pot" (beef or lamb meat with vegetable or potatoes cooked in one pot etc). Grilled meat and fish is good idea but in this amount of guests poor lady didn't have a chance to make meat well done. Desserts with wilted fruits. Both our kids unfortunately vomited and had diarrhea even we payed extra attention what they ate ( no fruits, no ice cream, no ice in drinks, no well done meat and fish, eggs etc). Adults didn't feel well as well but thankfully better than kids.||||Now somethink possitive. Hotel has great location. Just 3 minutes walk to clean sandy beach with sunbeds and parasol. You can use golfcar to go down the street. Nice fun for kids or elderly people.||Swimming pool is clean, good temperature with enought sunbeds, little kids pool and 2 slides for kids (works 4 hours per day). ||Rooms are perfectly cleaned daily, even water in minibar is gratis every day - good job. Airco worked without problem.||Animation program by the hotel is again made just for Germans - bingo, german retro songs etc but it is ok I didn't expect more.||But animation program in bigger sister hotel Villa residence is amazing and we recommend it!||In the end I would say don't expect much if you don't speak german and you dont give tips to waiters nobody cares about you. ||If your stomach is sensitive - we really recommend you choose diferent hotel.||We travel a lot (with or without kids) and I normally don't write reviews but here I had to. We used to work in hotels abroad as waiters as well and we have different expectation from 4star hotel (about food quality and...
