Overall, an excellent, relaxing stay for a week at Rixos Downtown. The staff, food, service and amenities across the resort were brilliant with a friendly, helpful and welcoming atmosphere. Amenities were plentiful, with recreational areas, lots of relaxing spaces and many places to eat and drink. Clean and well managed throughout. The restaurant staff were particularly kind especially Nazime who looked after us well during breakfast, lunch and dinner service. She was always attentive, kind and a had lovely smiley mannerism! There were odd staff who were a little inattentive at times but they also seemed very over worked with the restaurant and eating areas being so busy and at certain periods the restaurant becomes very busy and not too relaxing with so many people. The food choice and selection had amazing variety and there were l different foods available each night catering to a variety of cuisines including freshly cooked pasta, Asian food and Mediterranean meals aplenty. The eggs during breakfast were not always cooked fully I found as a minor issue. The spa/sauna and steam rooms were excellent. I booked a massage with an additional cost, but it was totally worth it! Also made use of onsite hairdresser who did a perfect job! The heated swimming pool is large enough and is well used by families. The loungers around become used up quickly and some people do not follow the rules so that others can also use the loungers. It would have been good to have a separate pool just for ladies or even have times set just for ladies only. The recreational areas were good, we made use of the basketball and table tennis areas. Would have been nice to have more tables and spaces for this and for the tennis courts to be available for set times as they were always booked by others and we could not get on to use them. Although the panoramic sea view double room was clean, spacious and had a breathtaking view, the actual room requires an upgrade in furniture, carpets and general decor. It is clearly dated and even the fridge felt warm when I arrived. I was assured it was cold, but it felt warm to touch and it certainly did not chill the drinks and food. The drawers to cupboards were creaky and generally the style and furnishings of the room let the hotel down. The space is grand, lush, clean and maintained to a high standard but the actual furniture in the rooms let's it down. On the plus side, the bed was a large double, very comfortable and cleaners did a brilliant job. The locks of the doors also need to be upgraded. The bathroom was comfortable and clean with all extras provided like shampoo/conditioner. The door to the shower was not closing properly so clearly needed attention. The guest relations looked after us, checked in with us and when I was very unwell one day, the staff looked after me, sent food up to me and provided me with anything I needed - really appreciated this! The communication in some depts is not great - I requested a different item but I kept receiving a bathrobe which I did not accept but was still asked to pay for and had to explain that I did not order or use any. The service from porters, to cleaning staff, to waiters/waitresses and the concierge was particularly helpful and kind. The staff at concierge guided us well and spoke with professionalism and manners. Overall, despite the upgrades needed for the room, the hotel would be a very good choice for families, friends and guests looking for a relaxing, friendly experience with a great location to the Konayalti beach and other local...
Read moreThis is my first visit to the Rixos hotel chain, and my first review in Internet ever ;). But I wanted to share my experience with you at Rixos Downtown Antalya Hotel. Firstly, I was very impressed by the level of service and friendliness of the staff: cleaning team, bar attendants, waiters and reception. Especially thankful to waiters: Hasan, Mehmet Sonocak. I live and work in Austria and often go on business trips around Europe and I have seen enough of hotels and different levels of the service. But what I experienced during my vacation at the Rixos Downtown Antalya hotel is truly wonderful! I can underline a relaxing atmosphere, being created by the very friendly and caring staff, great spa and for sport fans a gym with a huge selection of the latest generation exercise machines. My son would die for that gym! The hotel has two bars where you can order any standard alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and enough staff to avoid standing in line. I am a huge fan of tea and completely indifferent to coffee. I was very pleased with a small tea stand at the lobby bar, which displays a selection of natural teas, green tea, rose tea and a great veriety of herbal teas. You can mix it yourself as you want and the bar attendant will just add the hot water for you - it's just great - I love it! Furthermore a young and beautiful musician lady playing in the conservatorium Level of piano - is something you will not find in Antalya - only in Rixos. Its like a live concert in Vienna Musik Ferien. I highly recommend the hotel management look at that lady precisely - it's hard to find such a hidden diamond nowadays. I took a detox therapy and anti aging program in the medical center (Med World) at this hotel. I want to thank the whole team of Med World for being very attentive to my physical and mental needs. At Med World they don't want to blindly sell you the treatments, here you will find an experienced and devoted team that very carefully takes into account all the characteristics and needs of your body. They indeed act according to the medical principle: a body of every human being is very individual and it's important to provide an individual solution to each patient.
I am especially greatfull to Hasan, who was the coordinator of my programs! Not only he is a kind, generous and thoughtful person. He takes the issues and worries of each patient for a critical discussion with the doctors and works on the best possible solution. I had some complications after a small operation and Hasan gave be a good and secure feeling that I am been taking care of by the professionals and the solution will be found. I also cherished conversations with Hasan in English language, as he's command of the language is more than impressive. Where else apart from UK, we, non English speakers, can discuss Shakespeare's plays in English at an elaborate level? ;) Thank you Hasan for making my "reducing weight weeks" fantastic! And surely I am very thankful to every member of Rixos Downtown Hotel team for an absolutely...
Read moreDetails of our stay at Rixos Downtown. I went there for my first vacation after 8 years. Me, my husband, my mom and our 2 kids. 8 years and 5 years. The hotel is beautiful, all inclusive with a very big variety of delicious food and drinks. (They have 3 restaurants outside the all inclusive deal but they offered us one dinner there because we stayed 4 nights) The hotel was very clean, the service was superb. Staff were amazing (they made my vacation much better with their smiles and fun reactions to everything) They have 2 pools (no slides) and access to the beach(even at the beach which is separated from the hotel but could walk there, food and drinks were inclusive. They even give u towels) . The beach ia not sand. So better have plastic shoes on. They even have water games like Ringo, Jet ski and Parasailing.
All was clean and calm. They have a nice kids area with multiple activities. The bar has a band every night (veeery talented bands). They have gulf court and a spa. U can even take a bicycle ride from the hotel for free outside. U could spend all ur vacation without leaving the hotel. Except for the bad shampoo in the rooms everything was superb.
We visited old town, which was okay if u r into buying fake brands. They put very high prices u can bargain but we didnt get anything. It wasn't very interesting in general.
We visited the land of the legends (the hotel offers free access to it). Unfortunately the road took almost 2 hours. It was supposed to be 45mins but traffic was crazy. Buses had to leave by 5pm so we stayed there alone and took a cab back to the hotel (also he tried to take 70$ while we paid 45 at the end). As a Rixos service we got the entrance for free. They give u towels. They also have wifi. Unfortunately no one told us that there are 2 access to the place. The normal one where u wait a loooong time to play the games and the fast lines. So try to ask about it. Also careful to put money in ur bracelet before u walk inside. Do not miss the daulphin's show. The night show there (water and light show) was not worth it. We sat on the stairs for 2 hours waiting for the show, it was very lame and not worth the trouble maybe 10 to 15 mins show.
I did have one small misunderstanding while I was booking at the free dinner they offered us at one of there restaurants. We tried to book one night before then again in the morning. They made excuses for not being able to book and promised to manage it when we r back at night but when we came at night they said they couldnt. I had both my kids birthdays so I was very pissed. The lady at the desk was not helpful (the only not kind staff i had contact with there) and smiled at me when i was pissed so it was triggering. I called the customer service and they solved the problem in 5 mins, thats why i will keep the 5 stars.
If I'm ever back in Antalya I will book Rixos and spend alllll vacation inside the hotel.. Thank u...
