Went for our first holiday in 6 years , saw the photos and thought it looked great .
We went the end of august until 10th september. Wouldnt go on all the negative comments by others. Just having a read some of them that seemed to stay arpund the same time as us. We did t have any issuea no where near mentioned by some. So think they may be just trying to get compensation of some sort .
We are a family of 4 , 2 kids- 9 and 5 .
Stayed in a family room. Rooms were massive , beds comfy . We did asked to get moved to another room due to a cpl issues and they sorted us out and said itd be a couple days until other people had came to the end of their holiday whoch was fine. Reason we asked was our vierrw was side on to the neighbouring hotel ( nothing major) but our balcony was above that hotels staff entrance and also an aircon unit running. Again nothing to major as we arent on holiday to sit on a balcony all day and night . There was a cpl minor issues with the room. Shower door not fitted correctly so leaked water a little , alot of the fixing screws to the wall seemed to have been temporary fixed by just putting silicone in to hold them in place ( looked more like a handy mans work jist bodging it to keep it going until the end of the season ,when a profesional trades man can get in and fix it) again nothing major you just notice these things but doesnt effect too much . Shower water pressure is a little low. Noticed that in both rooms and speaking to other uk family they said same. Its just tap pressure and not like a power shower youd be used to at home.
STAFF- always helpful. Always friendly, if they didnt understand english , theyd try get another member who could. Also hotels wifi and using google translate helps the language barrier, only had this issue a couple of times with a cpl staff room cleaners dropping off towels or topping up mini bar , wed ask for more water but they didnt understand so we used translate on our phone. Good mix of staff that speak various languages to try help everyone located around the hotel , in the restraunts, reception and entertainers . The recepion staff i got knew german i think it was but not good english. So got another member who knew english better and could speak it . Heard various members turkish of the staff talk in french, german, polish ,spanish etc so they are prety bi-lingual and happy to find someone that speaks your language. But again google translate using the hotels wifi helps for basic stuff.
Food- big offerings trying to cater for everyone. Vegans , sea food lovers, poultry, meat, kids etc etc. Theres seevral stations in the main restruant . Never any issues and food tasted fine. Dont know about the seasoning issues other have mentioned. Spicy food was spicy ( i like my hot spices) they had mild and hot stuff . Seasonign was good on everything . You just helpnyourself its like a giant. Buffet/banquet .they also do specialised nights where it was more centered arpund italian food or turkish food etc but still offered a big variety of other options for everyone. ( first day there you dont know how it works so you dont know if you just grab a seat or if they take you to a table , no info on that. But you just walk in and pick whatever table you want to sit at and then go get food.) The staff/ waiters try to keep an eye on you arriging and where you sit and then send someone to the table to get you the drinks, but theres also drinks stations you just go up and help yourself to if you want tea/coffee/ fruit juice/fizzy juice/bottled water. If you want alcohol youd ask them. Also its not hard to use manners and jist go ask one of the many staff/waiters walking about if you could get a drink and they asked regulary if you wanted more or theyd see what you were drinking and replace it when low without you even saying anything . Theyd just turn up witha tray of drinks of what your drinking and give you it. Staff are turkish so they communicate in turkish to each other and tell each other...
Read moreWe have stayed for around 10 days as a couple. There are a lot of things worth mentioning that have not been noted anywhere else online. This Hotel is definitely not worth 5 stars, more 3 stars, it needs a desperate overhaul, and if you want a peaceful and quiet holiday, it is not for you.
Pros: -The Service we received everywhere in the hotel was friendly. Especially the Service in the all-inclusive meals and drinks. It made our stay much more enjoyable. The food there was also delicious, you could see the Chefs cooking your pancakes and fried eggs, fresh variety of pasta every lunch and evening. The desserts in the evening buffet were the only downside, tasted frozen. The cocktails were very sweet but tasted nice, especially the Sherwood one.
-The General Store, Hairdresser and Doctor on site were also very good, but also quite pricey
We had a jacuzzi in the room, which worked fine and was great to use. Our minibar was filled up every day. AC worked weak but was fine with the temperature.
Cons: This is definitely more a hotel for families. Outdated loud Pop Music at the Pools every day, which is also the same playlist, if you want some sort of peace and quiet go to the beach (but also be prepared for the loud watersports business with their jet skis and boats). There is a kids disco at 8:30pm till 9:30 every day at the Stage, and they play the exact same songs and playlist. Then you have an entertainment show from 9:30 till 10:30 which seemed cheap and not very exciting. The other hotel Kirman Belazur had bigger shows and a DJ playing music until 1:30am every night, which was a nuisance for Sherwood Dreams resort guests (at least let us join in the party!). We did not come on holidays to have a Festival right outside our Window.
Our room was never cleaned properly during our stay. There was mold in the Shower, toilet paper rarely refilled, sheets weren't changed and towels sometimes. There was a strong smell of mold in the toilet and cracks in the wardrobe. They left a note that they will "fumigate" the room with insecticides and no other reason, so you wonder if there was an outbreak of bedbugs somewhere. The Floor was also filthy. Lots of Power cuts every day, Wi-Fi Internet is weak and cuts out every few minutes, TV was completely unusable, had no signal at all.
-We used the SPA, Gym and Pool during our stay. Most of the Cardio machines in the Gym are broken since we arrived, and haven't been fixed during our stay. The Weighted dumbbells only go up to 17.5kg. There were People training in bathing suits and children using the machines, which is forbidden and shown on a small sign only, but nobody is enforcing it. The Pool has never been cleaned since we arrived and seemed very dirty, you can see it all on the Pool floor, so we stayed in the Sea, which was also warmer! Our Spa Hamman Treatment and Massage were very good, the lady and gentlemen masseuse were lovely.
-The Location of the Hotel is bad. Belek is quite far away. We booked external activities over an app like horse riding and canyon boat ride, but all in all it's a shame that this Hotel is in the middle of nowhere, and you will have to buy expensive transport tickets to get away and waste at least 1hr...
Read moreWe stayed at the Sherwood dreams from 7/4 - 17/4 and it was a very mixed experience.
Room 1
We had a family room, after the first night we had to move. The room was on the ground floor, just behind reception. Leaking toilet, wires hanging in bathroom from phone, utility cupboard door on one hinge and hanging over child's bed, TV hanging off mirror (weird place for it), poor lighting, old looking, phone not working.
Room 2
Reception moved us in the morning without any issue. Room was better except for the following. Mouldy smell from toilet cubicle, wall paper hanging off, skirting board fallen off due to the mould behind it, broken phone. During our stay, the ceiling light inside the shower fell down, while in the shower.
Bars
Great staff and selection of drinks at bars. Special mention to Batu and Yusuf, but all bar staff couldn't do more😊
Food
Pizza restaurant 🍕 excellent, quick and good quality pizzas. Could have been open after 1600 to allow another option for the evening.
Snack bars
Great chicken wraps. Chips, burgers on offer. Selection of ice-cream, fresh donuts later on. Everything cooked fresh with quick service.
Patisserie
Nice selection of coffee and teas. Cakes were hit and miss, mostly left over from the main buffet. Quite setting and kind staff.
Al a carte
Three on offer, Turkish, Italian and fish. Fish didn't exist. Only 1 open each evening, except Sunday when none are. We went to the Italian. It can only be described as comical. I haven't laughed so much at such poor quality food.
Buffet
Firstly very understaffed. Dirty tables, difficult to get drinks at all meal times.
Breakfast. Good omelette, toastie section. Hot was random... Eggs, noodle soup, roasted vegetables, sausage and porridge.
Dinner & Lunch exactly the same. I can sketch a plan of the buffet exactly, as it was the same food every night. Poor quality. Same salads, over cooked grilled and steamed fish, over cooked chicken, pasta section (I didn't go) same desserts, noodle soup (same as breakfast 🤣) after day 3 it was difficult to make a meal. Boiled vegetables sat in warm water, fresh flatbread and pizza breads made some nights. Ice cream stand was a plus🤛
"Guest relations"
Spoke to the two ladies who were working, most days about different problems. Rooms issues, food issues, dirty pool and many other things. I asked to see the manager but there didn't seem to be any. On our last day I finally met and managed. A Mr. Tuna, he made me a coffee so I invited him to sit and see the photos of the hotel. He was horrified. He the passed it on to the "guest relations manager" to checked on the system and said that nothing had ever been reported and that I had said everything was fine. I had even contacted easyJet as I couldn't get a solution from "guest relations". The hotel said they had not spoken to easyJet, even though I had a named response from them. Was offered a complimentary massage on lady day, I think it was the lady who cook the breakfast omelettes? Main "guest relations" lady.... Barefaced liar...
