Lovely guest house & you really do feel at home from the moment you walk in. I found Kidepo on Trip Advisor, the owner had no idea he was listed here & personally I feel Kidepo deserves a lot more reviews. ||||For a single room at US$30 with a TV, I got a small double bed with a mosquito net and en-suite with a shower that provides hot water (a rarity in this budget level of hotel) it was all spotlessly clean, as is the rest of the guest house. || ||Food is excellent, breakfast was ample with a Spanish omelette, bread & jam, banana, juice & coffee. I also ordered an evening meal which was cooked to perfection.||||Wi-fi is available in the rooms and outside on the veranda area & works exceptionally well. They have two wi-fi connections which is pure luxury in this part of the world; just remind your laptop to register both codes!||||The location is ideal, 7minutes by car from the airport, 3min walk to shops, supermarket & Barclays bank with an ATM; there's a great Indian restaurant at the end of the road which has a wide selection of food; not just Indian.|| ||The owner is a lovely gentleman who has excellent staff, particularly Michael who runs the daily operations & gives great local advice.||||This is a guest house, at US$30 you are not going to find a swimming pool or the extras but to be perfectly honest, you don't need much more!!!||||Only advice, I was on my way back from Bujumbura having already stayed in Entebbe, so I knew taxi prices. The hotel uses a taxi driver registered at the airport & he will charge 20,000shillings. It is better to come out of arrivals & find one yourself - generally a taxi here with a little negotiation runs at 10,000 - 12,000shillings (you may well end up with the same taxi...
Read moreThis guest house is close to the airport. It has good wifi and is a short walk away from all the amenities. I checked out the kitchen which was clean and the food is reasonably priced.|We booked and paid through Jovago at a good price but when it came to checking out the receptionist/manager told me they hadn't received payment and tried to charge again. The lady let me dial the number for Jovago on her phone but wouldn't let me speak to them, then when they called back she declined twice. In the end I told her I wasn't paying again and left. After spending a few months in Uganda I've found not everybody is dishonest but a lot try to take what they can from you and you must be firm. It was a shame as the rest of the staff are friendly and we had a...
Read moreThis is a very simple guest house. I.e just a safe place to lay your head for the night. The rooms are kind of small, but well maintained. The beds have mosquito nets to help keep away mosquitoes. My room had a fan which kind of helps during the hot weather. The bathrooms have showers and a clean toilet.||||Surprisingly the Wifi is fast and available in the entire guest house. ||Breakfast is very simple comprising simple fried egg, 2 slices bread, a piece of fruit , tea/coffee and a glass of juice. Just fair for USD 35. ||||The Guest house is very close to the airport and serves well as a transit hotel.||Do not expect very much other than a good...
