"You are welcome." These words, spoken softy, frequently, and with absolute sincerity, were the soundtrack of our six-night stay at this magical place. Indeed, our initial plans had been to stay for three nights, but after weeks of charging around Rwanda and Uganda, we were thrilled to extend our stay at Pineapple Guest House and recharge before heading home to Chicago. First, the basics: --Immaculately clean --Excellent water pressure, ample hot water --The best internet connection of our trip --A well-stocked, reasonably-priced honor bar --A "next-to-the-heavens" hilltop location overlooking Lake Victoria. Uber, when we didn't walk, to anywhere in Entebbe averaged 5,000 UGX ($1.35, yep, a buck 35). And beyond: --Incredibly gracious hospitality from innkeeper Allen and her highly-professional staff: Nora, Robina, Cheryl, Dexter, the groundskeepers --Gorgeous grounds, a lagoon-like swimming pool --Tastefully decorated with the kind of African art you can't find in the streetside craft markets--trust me, we tried --Remarkable, substantial meals. Several evenings we dined here; the best food of our trip. The cooked breakfasts for which we paid a modest upcharge were equally delicious. --High-end bed linens complementing a very comfortable bed When traveling domestically and internationally, my wife and I nearly always stay in small hotels, bed and breakfasts, home stays--the smaller is better. I can honestly say that of all the places in all the countries we've overnighted, Pineapple Guest House is our new gold standard.

This place is an oasis in Entebbe and it’s got to be your stop when you’re in Entebbe. We (2 Melbournians from Australia) stayed one night in the cottage and wish we could have stayed at least 2 nights. After an 11 day safari tour around Uganda, this was the perfect spot to relax and unwind. The gardens are stunning. The pool so beautiful. The cottage is just perfect too (and fully self contained). The staff are just so lovely, friendly and helpful. The dinner was also delicious and fresh (veggie lasagne, with a salad, pumpkin soup and fruit salad).

This place is more than 5 stars. It’s a calm, beautiful relaxing gem surrounded by immaculate gardens and views of the water from a distance. Ms. Allen, Norah (oh my goodness her massages!) and Sharon are just incredible people. The food is excellent and the rooms comfortable and beautifully styled. Warm water showers, good wifi, and a beautiful pool. This place is a must-stay when visiting Uganda. We can’t wait to return.

Booked to try somewhere new. I visit Entebbe often and open to staying various places. I booked for one night but was cautious and open to staying longer. I intended to check-in late morning but had last minute shopping to attend to found out couldn't get anything to eat for lunch without prior notice 🙃 not even a snack? So had lunch at a local mall. First off stuck at gate for a while, I didnt like breakfast included in charge to get a decent breakfast there was a 10 dollar extra charge?? Really?anyway decided not to have the breakfast at the guesthouse and went elsewhere within reasonable driving distance to have breakfast. I think that's just ridiculous. Room was abit small but clean and cosy, shower gel was in this small bottle ,small amount difficult to get out without good shake I should have brought my own. Abit of noise next morning 🌄 which could have done without . Departure next morning nobody at desk just left keys waiting on table after waiting. Young lad appeared said good morning. No offer with case....nothing so I left just like that... Customer care is something most people 🙄 think and feel is important. I don't think place was busy so I expected someone or somebody could have been available 🤔. Maybe they were busy? 11am was checkout time ⏲️ so maybe someone could have been around to see me off....NOPE. I didn't get the feeling that I was a valued customer. Reviews online indicate foreign visitors and tourist's have had great care ofcourse these reviews then get seen by people. and drives the business I suppose. My stay didn't feel good...

We spent 5 nights at Pineapple Guest House, and it was wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable. The room and bed were comfortable with other spaces in the house for lounging or relaxing. The garden is lush and well-cared for, with many places to sit and watch the birds. The pool is beautiful and refreshing on a warm day, surrounded by greenery that makes it feel secluded. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast and also several dinners – the food is delicious, with hearty portions if you get the 3-course set dinner. Drinking water is provided, which is very helpful, and other drinks available for purchase anytime. We also highly recommend the massage from Norah if you have time. Pineapple is quiet and off of the main road in Entebbe, but close enough to shopping and the airport to be accessible. We also took a boat ride one morning to the swamp to see the Shoebill stork, and the staff at Pineapple was very helpful in arranging that. All of the staff at Pineapple were so pleasant and helpful, which made it a wonderful experience. We recommend booking through their website...
