The staff to this hotel could improve their customer service. It was the only place in my two weeks where I did not receive a warm welcome, a warm towel or a welcome drink. The staff seemed almost surprised to see me on arrival. Later, I asked about local markets and the woman seemed to have no idea. She ordered me a boda boda that wanted US$10, which I knew was too much. I did some googling and walked to the markets near imperial mall in about 25 minutes. I caught a boda boda back for only 3000schillings (less than $1).||However, I loved my stay here! It is clean, has a beautiful room with mosquito net, a warm shower (although hand held only) and good food (including great coffee and fluffy pancakes). Internet/TV is available in the main area, but not in the rooms, which was no problem.||I recommend ear plugs as there was music from nearby fairly late— but plugs completely blocked it out. The morning is nice and quiet and a door to the main area blocks out noise from there. The sunset over the lake from the garden is beautiful! Read moreI've been a client to this place now for eight years. Now they have third owners and finally the kitchen gets to same level with the views like in the good old days. Sunset is the best served here in Entebbe.
Of their food the Asian and Indian menus are better than continental, but nothing is that bad. We have had some issues with home delivery, but they're improving with couple days delay when issues arrise.
Edit. Still unorganized and not honest. They forget to do they orders.
Good option to have in Entebbe if you're not too picky if you actually get the food when you want it.
Edit: I ordered delivered food from here today and they cancelled the order on the point when I couldn't order from any other place. Food there has been getting better lately but this is the sure way to piss...
Read moreEntebbe is not a crazy town, but even so, Carpe Diem is set in a particularly quiet and safe part of town on a dirt road high above the lake with beautiful views. Each of the handful of rooms is clean, well appointed, breezy, nicely decorated with art work, and have a private shower and toilet. It is relaxing to sit in the restaurant in the front yard and enjoy the views. There is a wide selection of excellent dinner and breakfast (included) dishes. They offer free pickup from the airport. It is a 20 to 30 minute walk or short bodaboda ride to Victoria shopping mall in downtown. Stefan, the owner, is super friendly. There is secure on-site parking if you have your...
