I was visiting family in Entebbe and Nairobi for about three weeks, but I wanted something more independent and safe at the same time. They suggested the Prestige cottages which is part of Prestige Resort franchise, it was such a pleasant surprise. The cottages are tacked away from the hustle and bustle of the small town near by; Kitoro, and 5 minute "bodaboda" ride to the entebbe town, 15-20 minute ride to the airport depending on the traffic. Its a safe, and quiet neighbourhood with a 24/7 security guard and on call maintenance service in case of any breakdowns and power outages( which you will definitely have, the Ugandan electricity system is so inconsistent!) ||But, if you are looking for a nice quiet place to meditate and relax, i'd definitely recommend requesting for the cottages. Thankfully the apartments are fully furnished, so all we had to do was do minor grocery shopping for the days we were not up and about travelling and touring. There's a washer and dryer so no dirty clothes to carry back home. It's really a home away from home, the apartments are big enough to have decent company over, or have a small bbq, I really loved it and would highly...
Read moreThis is a fairly basic B&B but my room was large and comfortable with a good size relatively comfortable bed (again, you won't be getting a spring mattress somewhere like this) and both a table and chairs and a pair of lounge seats and coffee table. So lots of room for sorting all your stuff in you're in transit which is good. There is a garden area where it's nice to sit in the evenings and they sell soda. They also do food in the evening although I never saw anyone eating it; it's not very expensive though. Breakfast is pretty good: you get juice, some kind of egg (e.g. scrambled, egg), sausage and that gross white bread I don't like except with some ketchup it makes a pretty good sausage sandwich. You also get fruit and tea. The shower is hot (although perhaps not for long) although the water pressure probably won't impress. Towels are provided and also a bar of soap - but one someone else has used...might be nice if they could replace that between guests. Staff are very sweet, friendly and attentive. I would stay here again if on a budget, although it's a little bit noisy...
Read moreA very nice stay for a good price at prestige cottages. Compared to average prices in Entebbe the price of a 1 night stay was very reasonable given the quality of accommodation. The cottages are self contained large apartments with bedroom, bathroom and living room/kitchen area. The bed had a mosquito net. The place was very clean throughout and the girl who checked us in and made breakfast was extremely attentive and approachable. The price of the accommodation included breakfast which was served exactly at the agreed time and although it was a strange combination of spaghetti, sausage and omelet there was enough food to satisfy our needs.||The only downside was there were a large amount of ants which had come into the kitchen presumably due to the heavy rain outside.||Overall a fairly well located, clean and large accommodation for a reasonable price and very nice staff. I would...
