Hotel Pearl Afrique — Hotel in Gulu

We had booked this place as we were only going to send the night each way from Kidepo NP. When we arrived we were asked to look at the rooms as they thought we needed to upgrade.||The room that they showed me was dirty and had not been cleaned. I was assured the room we had was clean. The size of the room was good.||When we were shown out room it also needed work the floor had footprints over it and neither of the beds had pillow cases. There was a balcony and the door to it did not close because they had lost the key and the door lock was on.||We were given pillow cases and they attached the door with a bit or string. I cleaned the floor myself.||||We went downstairs for dinner and asked for a menu and were told what did we want. We asked for chicken and rice as this seemed every where.|| After an hour and 20 minutes we finally asked when would it be ready they said about another 20 minutes. ||We cancelled the dinner and went to bed hungry.||||Needless to say we stayed in another hotel on...

Booked accommodation for my 3-clients and my self for a twin room with 2-beds and 2-single rooms for the driver and the third client.||||The services were excellent,pretty fast in serving the food and a great breakfast served with bananas and water merons,hot coffee and tea.||||The hotel offers free wifi Internet to all residents and i should say its pretty fast.if you are on budget and are looking for a nice and clean environment with 24hr security,just dont miss Pearl Afrique...

The bed was thankfully clean and comfortable. The good news stops there unfortunately.||Very run down building and rooms. Otherwise not very clean. Was not game to eat at the restaurant for this reason. Reception did not know about our online booking. Very noisy at night (no insulation and gaps above room doors means you can hear your neighbours every move). ||I guess one could say it’s an authentic African...
