Probably the worst reception service I have ever experienced in the UAE!, and Marriott! My husband and I stayed at this hotel in April 2024. We has both very well travelled and have always enjoyed our stays at Marriott Hotels, and in the UAE. My Husband is a silver card member. On arrival at the hotel, we were greeted by Ahmed,. He offered us an immediate upgrade to a sea view room. He also took my credit card, and asked to take the full payment for our stay, which was unusual, as you normally pay at the end with any extras. He also told us that breakfast was an additional cost. We were then shown to our room, which was lovely but there were no doors or a balcony, just fixed windows. So I called to request a room with these. Ahmed told me there was no availability for an upgrade and would show us another room. This room was a downgrade to city view, but we were both so tired that we agreed as at least there was a balcony. I asked if we could instead have complimentary breakfast for our stay and he said he would ask for this to be done. The next day there were draining issues with our room, bird faeces on the outside chairs, and cushions, and mould marks on the bathroom tiles. The room was in need of repair so not 5 star at all. I called reception, and asked them to fix the issues. We went to breakfast, where Rajesh, at the egg counter was so friendly, and caring, he really made me smile each day. Pure joy. Later that day the Manager of housekeeping came to apologise, and asked what she could offer. I told her we already had complimentary breakfast so it was fine. She still send us a basket of fruit On day 3 we went to breakfast, and as we were leaving, the waitress at the front deck shouted at us to come back! Everyone turned to look. “Ma’am you have to pay for your breakfast!” It was so embarrassing. So I explained that breakfast was complimentary. She informed us that it wasn’t and that we had to pay there and then. I was treated like a thief. I explained that my credit card was on file and that could be charged at the end of our stay as I just wanted this embarrassment to end. I then went to reception to complain. The manager of reception informed us that we didn’t have complimentary breakfast and that we had to pay. I explained that it had been agreed and he said NO, and that we had to pay. So NO upgrade and NO complimentary breakfast. He eventually offered a free meal. I asked if I could have a massage instead and was told NO! The reception staff do not care about a good customer experience. On the last day, I was staying on in Sharjah for a week. I spoke to Hassan, to see if I could have 2 hours beach access a day for 5 days, and I have a skin condition that heals in the sun, and sea. The rest of the beach at Sharjah often has red flags so I felt safe at the hotel beach. He took my WhatsApp number, and said he would let me know. The next day I received a lovely message saying I could have complimentary access and was given the number of the beach team. What a lovely gesture. I felt like the hotel had redeemed themselves. I went to the beach that day, stayed for 2 hours, and was treated incredibly well by the team especially Arsalan and Prahabat. I saw Hassan on the way out and thanked up for arranging the complimentary beach access. He smiled and said it was his pleasure. I will give you one guess as to what happened next?! I received a message from the beach team as I got out of the taxi to say the beach access was only for one day, and not 5. I messaged Hassan who failed to reply. So rude. then had to pay a full days rate to use the beach for 2 hours The customer service is in 2 halves. Reception where they are arrogant, rude and dismissive and the waiting staff, cleaning staff, are true customer care experts, particularly Shrejana, who kept our room beautifully clean. Sunday in the Cigar bar had excellent customer service skills. He needs to train the...

I was looking for a beachfront property to spend my final 2 days and night in the UAE before flying home from Dubai and chose the Sheraton Sharjah based on the location and amenities. Note that I would not consider this 5* on a UAE rating scale, a solid 4* though.

In 2 days I managed to experience just about everything so here's a full review!

Staff/Service: Very friendly and accommodating as expected in the UAE. I was generously given an early check in and late checkout due to my late night flight as well as a slightly upgraded room. As a solo female traveller I always felt safe and accommodated. The room was very clean and didn't feel dated.

Beach: I arrived at the end of the Christmas holiday rush so there were plenty of sunbeds and it's family friendly, so lots of kids but I found a quiet spot on the beach. The beach is NW facing, so just note if you're a tanning aficionado that always wants to face full sun, you'll be facing away from the sea all day. I didn't use the pools but they seemed to be majority in the shade (good for most of the year but not the winter)

Gym: There's a larger mixed gender gym and a smaller female only gym. The female only gym maxes out at 10kg dumbbells, so I used the mixed. The equipment is a bit old but it's sufficient with machines, free weights and a smith machine.

Spa: I treated myself to an (excellent) deep tissue massage and got to use the female only spa and relaxation area (sauna, steam, jacuzzi, ice, power showers, etc) beforehand which I essentially had all to myself. Pure Heaven.

Restaurants: I tried nearly all of them. The hotel is a bit out of the way and in the dry state of Sharjah. I knew I was going to eat all meals at the hotel, but keep in mind if you want to be out and about in Dubai, it's a minimum 30 min drive to the border. Il Gusto: This is where breakfast is served. It's a very diverse and substantial buffet with Local, English, Chinese and Indian options. No complaints other than I find buffets a bit gross. There is outdoor seating but a lot of birds waiting to steal a bite. Al Qubtan: By the pool/beach. Had an amazing tuna tataki salad for lunch on day one in the restaurant courtyars and a fantastic burger on the beach on day two. Great casual food and drinks. Arjwan: One of the formal dining restaurants, this one with local flavours. Had the best lamb shank of my life, the desserts were disappointing. Marasea: The other formal restaurant with nice outdoor seaview seating. Delicious Tiger prawns but unfortunately for me the dessert I wanted wasn't available. Al Mahatta: The smoking lounge/bar. As I mentioned this state is dry, but they have the full selection of Lyre's nonalcoholic spirits for mocktails. I had a negroni which was pretty good, but had it served outside the lounge and it smelled too strongly of smoke inside.

Overall a wonderful 2 days/1 night stay that gave me exactly the relaxation and pampering I needed before...

This is the best beach resort I have stayed in!! I would rate it above 5 stars if I could! Me and my family had the best time of our lives in this beach resort. It's a beautiful resort with an amazing artichecture, huge and fantastic swimming pools, with a splash park for the kids (trust me even the adults enjoy it there - I loved it!), and a beautiful, beautiful beach. I loved everything about Sheraton especially the staff! The staff are so, so welcoming right from the start. They have a beautiful smile and are always willing to go above and beyond for their customers. I would like to firstly thank the amazing receptionist who checked us in. (I couldn't get his name - Sheraton, if you could please find out and convey my appreciation to him) He checked in rooms 326 and 206 on 24th Aug. I really wanted a sea view room and thanks to him, he managed to get us one! He was so kind and supportive. I would then like to thank the amazing staff at the pool bar especially Rajan and Lalkhan. They were both extremely kind, welcoming and helpful. They always had a beautiful smile. We were on an all inclusive package and we went to the pool bar on our first day almost at 7pm when they were closing. My mum really wanted ice-cream and despite Rajan who had already put it away, he took it out for my mum! The level of respect and kindness that Rajan showed to my mum and my entire family was exceptional. Thank you very very much Rajan and we will always remember you and Lalkhan who always assisted us and asked us if we wanted something without us asking. The ice-creams were the best! Furthermore, I would like to thank the amazing breakfast Head Chef Vishal! He was outstanding! He looked after us and always ensured we were happy. He made us feel very very special. Thank you for always coming over and taking care of us. You are amazing Chef Vishal! Lastly, I would like to thank Dhaneesha! He was extremely kind, humble, and welcoming with a sweet smile! Thank you for looking after us and going above and beyond in fulfilling our needs. We are extremely grateful to the wonderful staff in Sheraton Sharjah! Everyone there provides the highest level of customer service! Thank you for also getting a cake for my mum's birthday at 12am on the dot! Thank you to the reception staff for also allowing us to have a late check out as our flight was late in the evening. Sheraton truly carers for their customers needs and ensures they have the best experience just like we did. The hotel is amazing! I cannot wait to go back! They also have an amazing games room and kids soft play! As I said, the hotel is above a 5 star! Thank you for making us feel special until the end with the beautiful...

Dear Management, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the disgraceful treatment I received at Sheraton Sharjah Hotel. This was, without question, the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Despite having a confirmed reservation for 8 rooms, it took more than two hours to even attempt check-in. During this time, I was served by a staff member named Ahmed, whose handling of the situation was unprofessional, slow, and completely lacking in basic hospitality. The staff overall were not only unhelpful but also shockingly rude and dismissive. To make matters worse, I never even received my rooms. After wasting hours in the lobby and enduring unacceptable behavior from your staff, I was left with no choice but to check out immediately without ever being accommodated. This experience shows a complete breakdown of your hotel’s service standards, management oversight, and respect for guests. It was an appalling waste of time, money, and trust. I will be sharing this experience publicly so that other travelers are aware of the extreme risk of booking with Sheraton Sharjah Hotel. I expect an immediate and serious response explaining how such a complete failure could occur at a hotel carrying the Sheraton name. Dear Sheraton Management Thank you for your reply, but I must strongly disagree with the way you are portraying the situation. The reality is that the check-in was already severely delayed, and your trainee staff were not able to manage the process professionally. This is not about free rooms, late checkout, or cancellation fees — it is about respect and reputation. My wife is pregnant, and after driving two hours from Abu Dhabi, we expected a smooth check-in, not to stand waiting while the staff struggled to handle basic procedures. Whether 5 rooms were “ready” or not is irrelevant — the fact remains that our group was kept waiting unnecessarily and treated without the level of care your brand promises. To be clear: • I did not cancel my booking two days prior. That claim is incorrect and feels like an attempt to shift blame. • My request for connecting rooms and a room near the elevator was indeed important, but that alone does not excuse the lack of basic hospitality we experienced. • I will continue with my formal complaint to Marriott International, my review on Google, and my escalation to the Sharjah government until this matter is addressed with an official warning to Mr. Ahmed and Mr. Nitish. This was not a misunderstanding — it was a clear failure of service. I expect this to be taken seriously. Regards, Mohanad Abdelkarim

I am staying at Sheraton Beach Resort Sharjah for four nights on a business trip, expecting a high standard of service given that it’s a Marriott property and a 5-star resort. Having had a fantastic experience at JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, I had high hopes—unfortunately, this stay has been disappointing. The check-in process was smooth, and Mr. Khan assigned me a city-view room with a balcony. However, he did not provide any information about the hotel facilities or how to connect to the WiFi, which would have been helpful, especially as a first-time guest here. I had to ask him myself for a welcome letter. The room itself is super clean but furniture is a bit dated, and the lack of basic amenities is surprising for a hotel of a five-star category. Essential items like a comb, dental kit, vanity kit, and shower cap are not provided—you have to call customer service to request them every time, and the service is extremely slow. Typically, in 5-star hotels, these essentials are stocked in the bathroom for convenience. A major issue is the poor soundproofing. The room is extremely noisy, with constant traffic sounds, city noise. I could even hear airplanes frequently because I guess the airport is nearby. Not only this, there was some issue with the electrical socket behind the TV and due to that there was strange electrical sound like a beep in the room. It was very uncomfortable and I had to call the technician named Mr. Mithu to get it fixed temporarily. The noise in room + the road traffic noise (car horns, airplanes) even at 11 am made it very difficult to get a good night’s sleep, which is a major drawback, especially for business travelers. Also, the telephone next to the bed was not working and I even had to get that replaced. I’m not sure if this is standard for hotels in Sharjah, but as someone who stays in hotels frequently and holds Diamond/VIP status with Hilton and Radisson, I expected better from Marriott. The overall experience, from customer service to room comfort, has been underwhelming. Would I stay here again? Unlikely. Sheraton needs to improve its service efficiency, room amenities, and soundproofing to match the standards expected of a luxury resort. Edit: Mr Ahmad from customer service team reached out to me and offered to change my room to the other side of the resort. I am very satisfied by the prompt customer service offered after my feedback, hence I have changed the rating given.
