This was my second visit to the restaurant, and while they’ve made some changes to the decor, the overall experience still leaves much to be desired, particularly in terms of food quality and service. I ordered the grilled shrimp, expecting it to arrive sizzling hot, but instead, it was just warm almost as if it had been sent back by another customer. This was disappointing, given how it should have been served fresh off the grill.
To make matters worse, I ordered mussels for my daughter, and soon after we reached home, she fell ill with food poisoning. It’s alarming to think that the mussels may have been improperly stored, perhaps left exposed to air without the necessary refrigeration, which undoubtedly led to them spoiling quickly.
The grilled fish I ordered was another letdown, lacking proper marination, and the taste was off-putting, to say the least. Unfortunately, the poor service only compounded the experience. Getting the staff’s attention and receiving prompt service was a struggle from start to finish.
Given the lackluster food quality and unimpressive service, I felt the price was unjustified. It was certainly a mistake to drive all the way from Dubai to Ajman, when there are far better seafood options available in Dubai or even Sharjah. I’m not sure if this was just a string of bad luck or reflective of the restaurant’s overall standard, but I won’t be returning. There are plenty of places offering superior food and better...
Read moreI had a truly delightful experience at Themar Al Bahar Restaurant and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy authentic Arabic cuisine in a relaxing and beautifully designed space. The first thing that caught my attention was the fantastic interior ambiance—it's stylish, thoughtfully decorated, and incredibly spacious, which makes it perfect for both small gatherings and large groups.
The restaurant is exceptionally clean and well-organized, giving a sense of comfort the moment you walk in. The staff are very supportive, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. They make sure you're well taken care of and happy with your meal, which really enhances the dining experience.
What really stands out is the variety of Arabic food options, especially for seafood lovers. You can actually choose from a selection of fresh fish, which they cook to your preference. The food was very tasty, well-seasoned, and served hot. We also enjoyed live music during our visit, which created a warm and enjoyable atmosphere.
Prices are quite reasonable, especially considering the quality of food and service. Plus, there’s free parking available, which is always appreciated in busy areas. Overall, this is a great spot for families, friends, or even team outings. Will definitely...
Read moreThe experience was one of a kind, in a bad way.
The waiter was probably one of the most incompetent people I've ever encountered, and it couldn't have possibly been a language barrier because I was with a group that could speak English, Arabic and French! Driving the our order across to him was a feat in itself but after 10 minutes of pointing at things for the man to understand, he nodded his head as if to imply that he understood our orders, this was not the case. There were 4 of us and we ordered the same drink, he gave us 1 of the drink we ordered, to share I guess. For the food, we tried ordering a variety of starters, all of which were incorrect upon arrival. When the food arrived he had only managed to mess up a single order, which I guess is somewhat of an accomplishment. The man wasn't rude but he wasn't really capable or willing to help as he only took the order once and we had to get up from our seats to ask him for the bill, we weren't rude either so I have no idea what his problem was.
As for the food, a friend had the mixed grill which had a combination of overcooked meat and (somehow) undercooked chicken. From a different visit when you get a 100g fillet from a 2kg fish you know something's wrong.
They had lemons though and lemons are...
