Nestled quietly in the Lickey Hills outside Bromsgrove sits the Hillscourt Hotel. It's the national HQ of the NASUWT; but much more importantly, for the purposes of this review, it's also a clean, comfortable, affordable, well run hotel and conference venue. Rooms in the Victorian main building are perhaps not quite as well equipped as in the newer accommodation, but they're still perfectly satisfactory for the kind of short business stay that brings me here. I have found the staff to be unfailingly friendly and professional, and the WiFi network is certainly good enough to handle those all important "miss you" calls home while I'm away to receive professional training nearby. Overall: Highly recommended.

Rooms were single beds which were surprise, but lovely. Only 1 towel. Automatic lights but turns off whilst showering. I liked the rooms, but no temperature control or fan. The walls are also thin so you can hear people in the corridor and opening closing doors. Food here was AMAZING, service was brilliant too! Facilities were great. Location is a little far out for public transport... by driving this can be perfect. Location is within Lickey Hills Country Park, full of nature, history, and walking trails with great viewpoints in several locations.

Had a single room which is adequate for needs but has a decent size ensuite bathroom. Warm and great views of the amazing grounds. Tea and coffee in rooms. Nice and clean and comfy bed. Food is really good from bar food to restaurant food. Amazing breakfast which is self serve with good quality produce. Cereals and fruit offered too. Lovely setting and great helpful friendly staff. My overall experience was positive however I have to say like anywhere there are areas to improve. It's frustrating that most places similar only serve breakfast at inconvenient times if you have an early start or are wanting the same breakfast options but at lunch time for a nightshift etc. The room was clean and basic but was certainly all that was needed. The service was good any problems fixed quickly. The 'bistro' (more of a mini on-site pub really) menu was quite bare and basic food, probably not worth the money compared to food in the local area but a nice addition to have on site although closes at 9pm. Things are accessible in the local area. Nice pub food only 2 minutes away at Oak Tree. Shower had good water pressure which is nice to see and good size ensuite for a single room. On that note unsure why they have single beds at all as the single rooms would easily fit a double but again no issues there, bed comfortable enough. Some doors to the building don't have keycard access while others do defeating the point but there is a barrier to get onto site. Good parking arrangements quite literally on a hill in a court area accurate name haha. Staff in reception 24/7. One thing that did bug me, while only small, there's enough tea/coffee in the room to make 2 of either, however there isn't enough milk sachets as there's only 2 and you need 2 for just one drink. All-round good but could always improve, I'd say good value...

Absolutely amazing venue . We had our wedding reception at hillscourt. The wedding coordinator Jane helped us through the whole wedding planning experience. She became like a friend to us . My husband is very fussy eater and this was no problem. I was perfectly made to feel at ease that the menu would deliver good food. Which they did . We had no complaints and everyone said how fantastic the food was. I stayed the night before and was made to feel so special , the staff were really helpful and Jane made sure that everything ran smoothly. After the wedding we returned to the hotel and the red carpet treatment. The whole evening was amazing and relaxing. Everyone said it was a fantastic venue , we thoroughly enjoyed the day. Everyone raved about the food and especially hog roast on the evening. We found it brilliant having the 2 rooms to entertain our guests as we could relax in one and dance away in the other . Our sweet tavle and props were all laid out in prefect locations . We has lots of guests stay and reception staff were brilliant especially Lee . Thank you so much for such a wonderful...

An alright hotel for a decent price. Stayed here 3 nights, Thursday-Sunday. The cooked breakfast was tepid at best (with other guests heard complaining) and no actual meat free options other than to go without (and the mushrooms were right next to the bacon). Weird eating breakfast in a conference room rather than the restaurant room next door. Toast is available but you have to find someone to ask. Rooms are fine, comfortable enough. Sound travels so I could hear the neighbouring room boiling their kettle. There was an event on Saturday night till midnight and I could hear the music so clearly from my room I could identify the songs, as well as watch the vibrations ripple my water. Dinner was in the bar, servers were polite but had to be reminded to provide the tortilla chips for my chilli, and apple crumble out of stock for 2 nights running. Would stay here again in a fix but...
