Ā Ā Ā Read moreNEVER again!! We couldn't believe what we were seeing. THE most disgusting hotel experience we've ever had....
I've waited over a week to post this review to give Premier Inn a chance to sensibly and reasonably respond to our disgusting experience. I've also wanted to compose myself before posting the review so as to be calm and clear but this is THE most disgusting hotel experience we've ever had.
We arrived in Burnley for my birthday weekend and upon checking in to our usual room we noticed a very strong smell of sick. The longer you were in the room, the stronger it got. We went straight back to Reception and asked what could be done. The hotel was full as there was a football match the same weekend so, the only room they could move us to was a "non-refurbished" room. We had no choice, so we moved to another room. As soon as we walked in I noticed several red stains on the carpet near the bathroom. Having already been told the hotel was full we had no choice but to accept this and hope they were old stains. As we were getting ready for dinner that night my husband noticed something on top of the wardrobe.
We instantly went to Reception to bring this to their attention and it turned out to be 2 pairs of heavily blood stained underwear. I COULDN'T BELIEVE MY EYES.........The receptionist was disgusted, apologised profusely and helped us pack up there and then. We walked out at 930pm in a bid to try and find alternative accommodation. There was no way I could stay a moment longer.
Firstly, a room that isn't cleaned properly smelling heavily of sick, then red stains on the carpet and then THIS!
I feel sick just typing this and remembering what we had to see. How has my husband spotted this but a cleaner (and i'm assuming a Cleaning Supervisor) NOT seen this??
We were given a Customer Feedback card and told this team were open 7 days a week. My husband tried to contact them the following day only to hear an automated message saying "Sorry we are closed on Sundays" - THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE!!
My husband is now in email conversation with the complaints department. Thank you Premier Inn for the most disgusting hotel experience we...

Getting there: About 20 mins walk from Burnley Centre, the paths on the way are decent but not fully paved some areas. The bus stops are accessible, not sure about train stations. Burnley is a rather hilly area so be warned.
Entrance: there is a driveway to get in, and at least two blue badge parking spots. Use the driveway to get there rather than the small path to the right as the small path ends with no cut curb, forcing you to go all the way back up and loop around.
The front door is step free, with a tiny bump that I went over very smoothly.
Room: I managed to get an accessible room twice without notice, I don't know how usual this is though. The room was on the ground floor.
It was mostly accessible, although the wardrobe had some issues in that the mirror was too high too see anything from my chair. There needs to be a full length mirror or at least one at sitting height so it's accessible.
There were two spare pillows and a desk fan but they were also out of reach and therefore unusable, even though it would have been excellent to have a fan during the current heatwave without asking for the hotel to assist.
The kettle was placed on a high surface, it was not able to be safely used. I would have moved it to the desk but it was secured to the wardrobe so I could not make tea or coffee in the morning. If the kettle was moved to the desk this would be rectified.
The bathroom was decent, with grab rails, a shallow bath, but no accessible shower or shower chair. The soap is also out of reach so bring your own if you want to bathe.
The emergency alarm had to be untied from a grab rail, which would have made it completely unusable in case of emergency. There is another emergency pull cord on one side of the bed. Only one side though, so I'm not sure what you'd do if you slept on the other side.
There are coat hangers, but they are too high so I couldn't hang anything unless I used the wardrobe hangers.
All in all, workable but clearly not designed with access in mind or with any consultation from...
