Visited for a birthday dinner, turns out to be the worst birthday ever with terrible food and service. Arrived on time and had to wait half an hour just for the staff to put a few tables together.

Eventually we sat down, and they brought the plates to our table which were dirty, and then proceeded to clean them in front of us with a dirty cloth. And yet when we gave them back and asked for clean plates, they pretended to clean them and give us new ones, but instead gave us the same dirty plates. The glasses were then brought out and again were dirty, one guest even received a glass with a lipstick stain from a previous customer already on it!

Then it was time for the food. Absurdly, the starters arrived at the same time as the main course. This was confusing to all of us on what to eat first, as starters as supposed to come before the mains. Then we began eating, and the meat was old overcooked and did not taste fresh. THEN, one of us found a BIG PLASTIC PIECE in a lamb shank. To top it all off, the guest kept eating and found ANOTHER even bigger piece of plastic in the food. The naan bread holders was also all dusty and dirty, this place had no hygiene at all.

We were all DISGUSTED and lost our appetites immediately, scared to find even more objects in the food. While eating, it didn’t help the table was broken and kept wobbling making it hard to eat.

The audacity of the staff acting all arrogant and displeased that we had some serious issues with our service, also made us uncomfortable.

The entire birthday dinner was absolutely ruined, and we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else unless you want diarrhoea and terrible service. I hate to leave bad reviews but this night was abysmal and anyone wanting to go here...

I totally ditto most of the bad reviews on here! Food below par and service you cant get any lower! It is truly right at the bottom of the pit! Unfortunately this place wasn't our first choice it was more of a compulsory decision as it was my daughter's birthday and I wanted to treat her with dining in somewhere....£80 down and nothing to shout home about!! Not sure how they justify the prices of their dishes when every single dish has the gravy from the big pan in the back in common! Some places have bad food and some places bad service, I would have allowed the food had the service made up! Icing on the cake for bad service was when the waiter came and slammed the bill down on the table and firmly said we are closed!! I was still chewing my food, I mean come on , how very rude!! I don't think the staff really enjoy working there as this is demonstrated in their overall conduct! Guys you keep harping on about awards ? Where are these awards being presented or bought ? Cheetham Hill Road haha ....on a serious note paying customers have a certain expectation, at least give people their money's worth ! If not via food then at least via the service provided!...

A family meal celebrated in comfort and style at a local Indian restaurant, enjoyed by all and worth considering for all good food lovers. Whilst not a cheap place to eat at around £9 plus for a curry plus sundries like plain rice, chips or the heartily recommend special rice, it is far from the most expensive that you will find. With quality of food and service high up with the top 25%, I would say that you would be in very good hands here, looked after by the friendly front of house team. One word of serious advice is to bring your appetite and order a family sized naan, we love the Garlic naan, and served on what could be only described as a stainless steel tree, is a delicious treat in itself, you will regret it if you don't try one, as when you see them brought out to other customers, you will no doubt drool and be most envious. Alcohol is not served here, but you may bring your own with no corkage charge, and they will sell you soft drinks, non alcoholic cocktails, coffee etc. Should you be wanting a take away to be eating at home, then there is a 10% discount off the menu price for you. Booking on weekends is highly...

Had to find a suitable venue for a family gathering and decided to go to Shimlas Spice Burnley. We had a party of 25 which soon became a party of 28. Management were more than accommodating and happily rearranged some tables for us. Food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. Emply plates all around after each course. Staff couldn't be any more accommodating and helpful with the food. As a result I had all of my family compliment the food and how nice the staff engaged with us all. Family friendly, very intimate and Instagram friendly decor :P Just want to thank staff and management for an amazing night. Well be use again 10/10

Looking for a Pakistani food restaurant in Burnley, we were guide to Shimla Spice and we were so glad to be there. We ordered prawn masala, chicken tikka, mutton balti and dhal (lentils) along with the naan bread. Everything was very well cooked, just the right combination of spices. We were impressed to see the large sized naans that were served to us on a stand. That was unique..... never saw a naan served in this manner whole my life. Its a bit noisy out there but the restaurant was full and we had to wait for 15 minutes to get a table. Service is very efficient and responsive. Would love to go there again whenever in Burnley.

Vegan review: Booked in at the last minute on a spontaneous sunny Sunday. It’s BYOB which is a bonus if you’re a drinker! There’s a free car park too. There wasn’t a vegan menu but Indian is great for vegans. I ordered the vegetable saagh and the vegetable rogan josh with rice. We got complimentary poppadoms too, they came with a sauce with dairy so I asked for mango chutney which they were happy to provide. My husband loved his food too, the naan was monstrous and looked like a work of art! We got very generous portions so took away the rest. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We will definitely come back.
