Easy to get to, Easy to find. Good security on reception as you need a key card to enter the hotel rooms. exceptionally friendly staff.
Rooms- The Rooms are semi updated to the new premier inn decor. There is a wing with the newest rooms including the purple light above the bed. Very clean and spacious. The cleaner arrives every day and tucks the bed in and replenishes the Tea and Coffee making facilities. Hairdryer also in the room. 42" Plasma on the walls with digital TV making this a comfortable space to relax after a days work. Ample sockets including by the bed. Very annoying when you cant charge your phone that is set as your alarm by the bed. These rooms have USB Sockets by the bed too.
Bathroom- Shower over a bath, toilet and basin. all immaculately clean. The shower requires some pressure though, Me and my colleague have resulted in removing the shower head to gain a little more pressure as it proved difficult to wash the soap off in the shower. No charging socket in the bathroom for razor or toothbrush, which for a weeks stay just means you have to make sure everything is fully charged and hope they dont run out.
Food Facilities- On site is a beefeater pub chain, good value meals and a good grill selection on steaks and meats. The food has been great with a selection for all diets and requirements. Staff are extremely helpful in making sure your needs are met. Basic selection of lagers, ciders and cask but all well kept. Soft drinks include cherry pepsi, pepsi (diet and max) and cordials.
Breakfast- cooked to order, no hot buffet which means Fresh!! good quality sausage and bacon, Eggs to your liking ( we have poached) and a continental buffet too. including pastries, cereals and fruit. Coffee and fruit juices too.
All in all I enjoy my stay at gravesend. The only thing that lets it down is the beefeater decor. The chairs are tatty, ripped and stained. The walls are marked, scuffed, dented and just an off shade of the original colour it once was. The beefeater needs updating, re decorating and just a good tart up!
This is one place I do not mind...
Read moreArrived after a 3+ hour journey. Had to drive past the boared up Woodlands restaurant. Check in was a bit rushed... lots of questions. Eg. Have you registered your vehicle? What time do you want breakfast? What time do you want dinner? Your room is through the door, turn right, up the stairs etc etc. Very shocked and annoyed to find the bar / restaurant was only open to residents. Nowhere on the Premier Inn website is this made clear. TBH, it's not even a real bar/restaurant, just a bottle fridge & a limited menu of 3 starters, 4 mains & 3 deserts. The meals were well presented & adequate. Very embarrassing to notify other family members staying in the area that they could not join us for dinner or indeed a drink.
Lots of issues in the room...dangerous light fitting by bed, blown double glazed window , black mould around window, hand rail on bath/ shower cracked, spare single bed (unmade & not requested) badly stained. The bed was clean & comfortable.
Breakfast was good on both mornings, although we felt it was paired down to the usual Premier Inn offering.
On another note, found the suspect 'visitors' arriving &entering the hotel with a bumbag and having access to rooms for a few minutes very off putting.
Big mistake on our part for booking the meal deal ( breakfast & dinner)for 2 nights & 2 nights accommodation in advance. We only had dinner one night and would never stay here again
You really need to up your game Premier Inn, this venue let's you down hugely! TBH, l would probably never stay at any of your...
Read moreI stayed here a few years back and had a pleasant stay, can't say the same this time. I paid for an early check in and there was uncertainty when I arrived about it's availability. I was eventually accompanied to a room, the receptionist entered it, to discover it was occupied. There was another false alarm, with a subsequent room, before I was finally allocated one, which was freezing cold. To her credit, the receptionist found me an old electric heater, which helped the situation. I had one of the worse nights sleeps possible, as every single noise from the adjoining room could be heard. The TV, the man's phone conversations with his wife, the persistent cough that occurred almost at 30 second intervals throughout the night. The truth is that this place is long overdue a refurbishment. It's not dirty but it looks it. Matters are not helped by the fact that the Woodlands Restaurant has been closed and looks decrepit, which unfortunately is the first impression as you drive in. There are many better places to stay in the area, until/unless they spend some money on it. I wanted to say something about my experience to the staff but no one was on reception, so I deposited my entry card and moved out to another...
