Lovely green space gives a view over the harbour from a high vantage point. It's great to be so close to the water in town. It's a seaside vibe without the overt trappings of a tourist destination. The port is still a working functioning commercial hub. So it doesn't have to rely on tourism. They used this landmark historically to watch for the merchant ships' arrival to allow for preparation to be made to begin selling off of the goods from the new routes discovered in the indies and beyond.

Here you can feel the effect of the Tower of Babel ,,,)))) Moving up the walkway, suddenly you realize that you are at the top. The gaze begins to look for the edge of the horizon where the majestic Thames meets the sea. But it seems to me that the bay is not visible from Gravesend. Only bends of the river. But the impression is remembered.

highest point in Gravesend with views north and east. The west and south views are obscured by tree line. Nice green slopes and open space

I love it here, views over gravesend and the Thames, space to have fun with the kids and it feels really peaceful, but must admit that the play area is in need of more, particularly for older children. There is only one toddler swing, and one older kid swing, a roundabout, a climbing frame, and some wooden stumps for jumping on, along with a log for balancing and walking along. On a sunny day, I'd come armed with a ball and other outdoor games and a picnic blanket for max enjoyment. P. S. It's a steep climb, a challenge with a pushchair but...
