We booked a double room last minute after our camping holiday got rained off early. We stayed for two nights, and read the information available to us about the property beforehand so we knew what to expect. Both being ex-students ourselves who stayed in student accommodation during our studies, we thought that what was on offer was true to what we read online. The staff were lovely - check in was easy and we were given keys, a map and a description of where to go and where to park. We were allowed to drive to outside the flat and drop our stuff off before parking in a secure nearby car park on campus. It was up a hill a few hundred metres away but we didn’t mind this considering it’s a university campus. We were reassured that the reception was opened 24 hours so if we had any issues they would be there to help. There was a well stocked shop (with a gluten free section, great for a Coeliac like myself!), a coffee shop serving Starbucks, a gym and a canteen area for use. There were frequent busses heading into Falmouth and nearby towns as well. The flat itself housed 7 en suite rooms and a communal kitchen area with a large table. We had access to pots, pans, mugs, cutlery and cooking appliances as well as cupboard and fridge/freezer space. The room was spacious enough with a basic double bed, bedding, towels and linen (again remember this is student accommodation!). There were plenty of plug sockets, the shower was lovely and hot/good pressure. The room also had desk space, shelving, a cupboard with a safe, hanging space and a full length mirror, and there were also bedside tables. The window could be opened on a latch and also fully if needed. There were also blackout blinds. The notice board covered information needed for guests about campus amenities and general safety. Free WiFi was also on offer, we used it to watch Netflix of an evening on a tablet we bought with us (there was a tv in the kitchen area, not in the rooms). As we stayed during the summertime it was lovely and quiet, the surrounding areas of the flats being grassy with benches available for use. If we were being really picky it was a bit of a pain that the bathroom light and fan were automatic and turned off by themselves after a fair few minutes, other than that the room was perfect for what we needed. We would recommend this accommodation to anyone seeking a warm bed, hot shower, some quiet away from town noise and a means of cooking your own food. The staff were wonderfully accommodating and friendly. Thank you...

Spend a little more money and go to a hotel. Don't even waste your time with this stay. I could have selected a hotel but my group was on a budget and didn't have the money for a hotel. If we knew how this stay would have been, we would have not even chose this accommodation. We was not expecting hotel quality, but we were expecting things to be how they should be.
The rooms? Absolutely horrible. I don't remember my uni accommodation like that at all! Beds will give you the worst night sleep ever. Mattress springs going in places THEY SHOULD NOT! Carpet was soaked because of shower (I will get into this later). The pillows ruined my neck with the poor quality they are.
The shower? Where do I start? Hot water was not even working on first day. Went to report next day and they said it was resolved. IT WAS RESOLVED BEFORE I EVEN REPORTED IT! Does that not mean they knew about the issue but gave me no warning? Nice of them right? Now let me get into the bath drain hole. Not blocked yet nowhere near big enough to drain the water from the shower. Shower base kept flooding and poured straight into the bathroom floor, leading to the room. Who doesn't love walking on wet carpet right? The toilet did flush however, just about really but only after a few clicks of the button which is always nice.
The smell in the room wasn't bad but wasn't normal and nice. You had to get used to it to best it. Wasn't unbearable yet not what I was expecting.
If I could go back in time I would tell myself to go for the hotel and not to worry about the money. (Actually if I could go back in time I would do more but that's for another story for another day).
Spend your money in a hotel and actually enjoy your stay in Cornwall. Don't be like me and have my stay in Cornwall ruined because of my unlucky stay at this...
Read morePoor does not touch on how bad the experience of staying at the Glasney rooms was. Arriving late after a very long drive we had to drive around campus to find the room but could not park near the block. We had to decant luggage and drive elsewhere to park the car. The room stank as did the bathroom and kitchen and the beds were dreadful. We could not open the window as there was scaffolding in front of it. The reception staff on checking in were completely unhelpful. I booked the accommodation through booking.com and provided my credit card details for payment. I have booked accommodation through this website many times and payment has always been taken automatically which I assumed had happened. I stayed in August and in mid October I have just received a letter threatening legal action as they have not received payment! At no point during check in or out was I informed that payment was to be made by an alternate means to my credit card. I have received no email or letter requesting payment since August. Basically a truly horrendous experience from beginning to end. Do not stay at the...
