Fantastic building but in need of some TLC - not like the official photos A group of 24 of us stayed in this house, the location and the number of bedrooms and bathrooms were great. Along with the games room and having two lounges so there was plenty of room for all. We also loved being able to sit everyone around the two tables for dinner. Unfortunately, the place was not kept to the same standard as perceived from the pictures and description. It was generally dirty with remnants of previous customers such as old nickers, bathrooms bins still full and food left in the lounge. As well as this it did not have the sky sports packaged advertised online. It is also in need of new furniture to replace the squeaky beds, worn sofas and dining room chairs which were all dated and not at the expected quality. The group also had to fix leaky toilets and the dishwashers amongst other problems at the start of the stay. Parking was a further difficulty with our party only able to fit 4 cars with the rest parked on streets nearby. All in all its a great property for fitting a large group of people in a great location, with the beach and promande easily accessed via a 10 minute walk from the house. A little more cleaning and review of the furniture and this would be a fantastic holiday destination.

We stayed here for a long weekend for my 50th birthday, (October 24) There was 30 of us in total and we found the place great for us, plenty of rooms with lots of bathrooms. No one felt on top of each other. A fully functional kitchen that was stocked with groups in mind, 2 fully working dishwasher & 3 fridge freezer plus plenty of mugs & glasses. We made a curry & a chilli so made use of the big pans. The game rooms was great for the kids and big lounge have lots of sofas to sit on. Yes it could do a bit of TLC, a lick of paint here & there, but when you have big groups coming and going you almost expect, most of the bathrooms looked like they have been done. We all had a great time. Steve was the new maintenance guy who went above and beyond, he came and replaced a few light bulbs that had gone, helped us sort out the heating and responded quickly to any questions I texted him. We could get 4 cars on the drive, but the carpark is only a five min walk away with lots of parking so, no problems having to find parking. As a family we have been to a number of larger accommodations for big groups, this was one of the best, for the number of rooms, space and amenities. I’m sure we will be back here at some point.

Have stayed here a couple of times we have found it an OK base. The size is great for sports teams or other large groups, there is enough rooms for large families to stay with own rooms without having to use the bunk bed rooms. Catering and facilities are sufficient for the size of the site. Cleaning has been a constant bug bear, with wrappers often left under the beds along with a good coating of dust. Security could be improved. A lot of the games in the games room are broken. Recycling is non existent as the bins are always full from previous guests, there could do with being more than one bin in the kitchen to allow the potentially 60+ guests to recycle. Fire exit downstairs was blocked by an old washing machine and other items. The toilet in the basement flushes with hot water and has done for several years, whilst this is a waste, it could also be a legionella risk.

A Disastrous Experience - Avoid This Hotel at All Costs

Our recent stay at this mountain view hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. We booked this place for a family gathering of 36 people, expecting a comfortable and pleasant stay. Unfortunately, what we encountered was far from it.

From the moment we walked in, it was clear that the house had not been cleaned in ages. The entire place was filthy, with dirt and stain in every corner. The bedcovers were particularly appalling—they were covered in mold and had clearly not been changed in a long time. The whole house reeked of mold and damp, making it extremely difficult to breathe, especially for those in our group who suffer from asthma.

To make matters worse, the toilet seat was broken, adding to the already unacceptable conditions. The oven and dishwasher were both out of order, which was incredibly inconvenient for such a large group. The sofas were stained and dirty, making it impossible to sit comfortably anywhere in the house.

Overall, this place is in desperate need of a complete revamp. We were shocked by the state of disrepair and lack of basic cleanliness. This experience was a huge disappointment and we would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. It's simply not worth the risk to your health...

I recently stayed at Mountain View Hotel, and I must say it was an incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment we entered the room, we were greeted by a strong, unpleasant smell of damp that lingered throughout our stay. This not only made the house uncomfortable but also caused health problems for my family. We later noticed several cracks in the floorboards, which made walking around the house a hazard.

The hygiene standards were shockingly poor. The showers had clearly not been cleaned properly, and to our horror, we found mould on the bedcovers. If that wasn't bad enough, slugs were literally coming out of the sink, which was both disgusting and unsettling. The ovens and dishwasher were completely dysfunctional, and the mirrors in the bathroom were rusted, which added to the overall feeling of neglect.Additionally, it was evident that the room had not been properly cleaned before our arrival, as we found rubbish left behind by previous guests.

The showers were another major issue—there was no middle ground, they were either scalding hot or freezing cold, making them practically unusable. Overall, Mountain View Hotel failed to meet even the most basic standards of comfort and cleanliness. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a...
