Penbakes Bakery and Cafe/Bistro — Restaurant in Wales

I fancied a bite to eat after a fantastic visit to Aber falls for my long drive home back to Leeds. I parked up at the promenade with my toddler and could see that I had time to get to the bakery before it closed at 1500. After carrying my toddler up a steep hill and getting her excited about the prospect of having some cake, we arrived at Penbakes 1430 (30 mins before closure time) to be told that they are closed now and refused to serve us. Thankfully, boss bakes over the road don't turn paying customers away and we really enjoyed some cake from there. Penbake eats and treats under new owners opened last month June 2023 , went in today lunchtime had lovely poached eggs on toast hollandaise sauce , my wife had ham sandwich / salad and tea for 2, excellent service and all ingredients top quality , nicely set out and very clean establishment, good menu for breakfast , snacks , main meals very competive prices will definitely eat here again . What a lovely little bakery/cafe. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts Jan and Man Fitchew. We had lovely teas and coffees at a very reasonable price and the cakes and scones were to die for.
