Penmaenmawr beach is fantastic for a visit with kids- however make sure you check the tide times before you go. At high tide there is only rocks above the water level, more than an hour or two either side and you have miles of beatiful clean sandy beach. It is rarely crowded as it is so big, and the North Wales expressway makes it a little hard to access- there is a pedestrian access tunnel, but most people seem to drive there. We have spent many a happy hour building castles, digging moats and paddling in the sea. There is a toilet block near the road entrance to the car park and a shop/cafe and small playground much further along.

Read moreI visited this lovely café with my two daughters and we all had such a great time. The girls absolutely loved the food. The portions were generous, the prices very reasonable and everything tasted fresh and delicious. We rounded it all off with some ice creams which were a big hit.

It appears to be a popular dog walking spot. No fouling seen during our visit even after seeing dozens of dogs, clearly lots of responsible owners use this beach and prom. 👍
