Spent a night here mid August with my wife and two kids. Noticed the website's info read "no a/c" and didn't think much of it as from past experiences it's never been a real issue. How wrong was I just about to be proven... It was a nice and sunny day. Temp around mid twenties ( no real scorcher) and few clouds in he sky. Checked in early to a family room (127), located in the wing which overlooks the hotel entrance. Noticed it felt slightly hot so cracked open the window (which for "safety" is about all you can do), pulled the curtain shut and left for the day. Came back around 8 pm and as we opened the door to our room, a waft of hot air smacked us right in the face. The thermostat which handles the heating in winter read 32 degrees in the room. A tiny 30cms in diameter fan was all there was for the 4 of us to deal with the heat through the night. In order for it to move any air it had to be set to it's maximum speed. This added to the heat made us all feel like we were lying down in a DC3 (propeller aircraft) flying around the sun's low orbit. Tried to force the window to open a bit more with no success, tried to turn on the extractor fan in the bathroom to extract some of the hot air and create some sort of forced ventilation. Unfortunately it wasn't to be as it was inop. To sum things up we were stuck inside what felt like the belly of a giant air fryer for the night. At 5:30am we got up having slept maybe an hour (out of pure exhaustion), and the thermostat still read 30 degrees in the room. If you ever have to come to this hotel make sure it's winter or at least cold, and request a ground floor room, and not in the wing opposite the hotel's entrance. Did not complain to the staff as I'm sure they've had plenty already, and it's probably not down to them to fix...
Read more"Everything is Premier, except the price!" say the adverts, but not this time! More like "especially the price!" I paid over THREE times the cost of last night's stay in a nearby Travelodge, and it wasn't 3 times better.
It was slightly better located, well sign posted from the main road with plenty of free parking. The room was perhaps slightly better appointed, but could not be described as luxurious. The extra cost didn't stretch to providing more than the usual 2 complimentary tea bags, but at least there were bottles of soap and shower gel in the bathroom.
While the mains sockets didn't have usb ports for charging, there were at least some by each bed. A lack of sockets is a particular bug bear of mine. Another bug bear is cold showers, and here we also had plenty of nice hot water available. The disappointment in the bathroom was actually the opposite - the cold tap seemed incapable of delivering cold, or even cool water. The cold pipe must share a duct with the hot, and is picking up the heat there.
This hotel had an attached restaurant, which had a good selection of meals at reasonable prices. However, there wasn't enough selection of beer available - not everyone wants to drink lager!
Premier make a big deal of the mattresses, and while I got a good comfortable night's sleep it was not really any better than many other hotel stays I've had.
If it wasn't for the exorbitant cost of this particular night's stay, I would give 4 stars, but there are plenty of cheaper accommodation nearby, that will give you as good a night's...

The person who checked us in couldn’t haven been more disinterested if he tried. I appreciate it was late but at least try to be a little more friendly and less like we were an inconvenience.
The only plus was the bed was comfy as always in a Premier Inn. The room was freshly decorated but hadn’t been cleaned well. There was what looked like dry skin and nail clippings at the side of the bed. We arrived late and couldn’t be bothered traipsing back to reception to change rooms.
Next morning, the chef hadn’t turned up to do the breakfast. We had paid for the cooked breakfasts but the only thing available was toast, a minimal amount of fruit and hot drinks. We got told we would be refunded. However, as we had a slice of toast each and a cup of tea, we were only refunded £2 out of £22. Absolutely terrible customer service, dirty room and the most expensive toast and tea I’ve ever had. There used to be a difference between Premier Inn and Travelodge. Not on...
