Falkirk Whisky Distillery Company Ltd — Local services in Great Britain

I cannot recommend this distillery enough. Ray has been a great host to us and the three whiskies were awesome. We even had the chance to shake hands with George, the founder / owner, and had a wee chat with his daughter Fiona, co-owner. This young distillery shows that you can have excellent results by using classic bourbon and sherry casks for maturation instead of using overly active STR and otherwise heavily treated casks. Sadly there is no importer for Germany, yet, but we will spread the word (and some samples) on our next whisky fair visits to some independent bottlers! Swung by Falkirk this morning just to take some outside pics. One of the distillery workers, 'Zee' came out and invited us in as they were silent. Received a private tour of the distillery and warehouse that was calibrated to my knowledge gained from other distillery visits. Sampled both their new make and two different single malts. Had an amazing visit at the distillery where four of us (Scott, Neil, Niklas and I) were met up by George and Fiona Stewart. A very nice tour of the distillery ended up in the managers office. On the visit we were also offered various samples of a newmake, young spirit and matured whisky which I have to say was outstanding considering its age. The newmake I sure could have bought and used instead of gin.
