My mother and I enjoyed exploring the Galloway and Solway coasts using The OId Rectory Guesthouse as a base. The breakfasts were very tasty and set us up for the day and local information from David was very useful and welcome. One thing that would have been good to know in advance is that, while the guest house is pet-friendly, pets are not allowed in the breakfast room, even though they are allowed in guest bedrooms. Helpful to provide tips re dinner, asked about dietary requirements and I was allowed to use the nice breakfast room for an hour to read after I checked out. Read moreThis is a lovely B&B both in comfort and atmosphere. Dave was very welcoming and friendly from our arrival to when we left! The room we had was lovely and spacious, and the bed was super comfortable. As we had our dog with us, he recommended a walk which went alongside the river which was very close by and a great route. A lovely stay and we will definitely be coming back on future journeys to Scotland, and would highly recommend to others. Thank you...
