Bushmills Hostel — Hotel in Ireland

Let’s start with the positives: Pros – The location is great, right next to the bus stop, so it’s easy to find. 🚌 Plus, they have a fully equipped kitchen where you can cook to your heart’s content, which is a nice touch if you enjoy making your own meals. 👩‍🍳🍳

Now for the Cons – The check-in time is the worst I’ve ever experienced, especially for international travelers. 🌍✈️ After traveling halfway across the world, you’re expected to wait until 3:30 PM for someone to show up with the keys, despite informing the property 10 days in advance that we needed early check-in. All the flights and buses to Bushmills arrive around 10 AM, so why is check-in at 3:30 PM? It doesn’t make any sense at all! 😠

To make matters worse, the phone number listed on their website and everywhere else is completely useless—nobody answers. You can keep calling, and no one will pick up. 📞🚫 It’s frustrating and unprofessional.

The property itself is very old, and the bathrooms are in poor condition. 🚿 The only reason people end up booking here is because it’s the most affordable place in Bushmills, so there’s really...

Never book The humanity of the management of this hostel is entirely missing. I booked it to accommodate myself and my colleagues for one night, and we should have been there before 21:30, but there were many problems on our way, so we arrived less than an hour late. The management should have contacted us as respectable accommodations do, but they didn't. We arrived at closed doors, and they did not answer our calls or messages. I contacted booking.com and spent more than an hour on international calls, but the hostel never answered Booking.com calls. Booking. Com apologised, saying that they couldn't get in touch with the hostel management and couldn't find us an alternative accommodation for the night, leaving us stranded in an area that we do not know anyone in. I've been to so many accommodations, but this one is really the ugliest behaviour of hospitality management I've ever seen. Furthermore, they charged me the full rate and considered us as a no show up and even booking.com apologised saying that they can't do any thing regarding this.

Doesn't deserve the star but...

My stay at the hostel was fantastic. The value for money is fantastic, and the location is great. It is right in the centre of town, very easy to get to the main tourist attractions. There is a shop literally across the road where you can get any supplies you need. All in all very impressed with location and facilities.

The thing that really stood out for me and made this place 5 stars was the service. Dennis was working and gave me a very warm and open welcome. His hospitality skills were excellent, from the start he was extremely helpful and accommodating. He greeted me by name and took time to have a chat and make sure I was settled in. Having worked in the hospitality industry for years myself I was very impressed with his friendly customer service....
