We stayed here for just one night while touring N.Ireland over a weekend.||I chose this hostel for 2 reasons. Reasonable price and its location.||||We booked the private double bedded room in the hostel. ||||The room overall was decent big, neither too spacious nor cramped. There was a double bed with comfortable bedding, a cupboard and small washbasin in the room itself. The only window of the room was overlooking the backyard of the house.||The shared bathroom was next door only, which was quite convenient.||I dont think there was anyone staying at our floor, so we literally had the bathroom to ourselves only.||||Our room was on 1st floor which also had the Kitchen and dining and relaxing area. ||The kitchen was quite big with all the basic amenities to cook n eat. The good thing i liked was that every shelf in the fridge was having 2 open boxes, where anyone can keep their food, thereby minimizing the chance of mixup. thats quite good.||The owners also kept some breakfast stuff in the topshelf box for everyone's use.||||The hostel is quite near to town centre. It was situated on the main road, 8 min walk to town centre and 5 min walk to beach/marina.||||The hostel has free parking, some in backyard (6-7 cars), free parking on road in front of hostel.||||The owner Mr White is an amazing guy. He emailed and even gave us a call to ask our whereabouts before checkin. Checked us in very fast. Gave us some pointers on dinner and breakfast in marina and town centre. ||The best part was, since we were driving next day to airport and had practically whole day, he suggested places to visit, places to avoid and even gave us a driving route, which we took and turned out to be one of the best drives i have done ever. Thanks for that Sir.||||All in all, it was a great stay and would definitely...
Read moreDon't listen to any of the negative reviews, they are just nonsense. This is the second time that we have stayed at a hostel. This time didn't disappoint, turned up on time, owner (Berkley & Holly the dog) was in the property next door. Located them quickly, given a quick tour by the owner, has EVERYTHING you will ever need, our room didn't have an en-suite but bathroom directly outside (review about being some distance to bathroom is total rubbish as no where is far from the 2 bathrooms), also had a kitchen area with everything, also had a lounge with lots and lots of info on bus times, local tours etc etc also has books. I don't see why any normal person would find this place any worse than excellent. Well placed for walking to local pubs and restaurants...
Read moreRan by a very helpful gentleman this is a basic place but it suited our needs perfectly. It was quiet whilst we were there, but the room was large and the bathroom clean with a good shower. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. Overall it feels a little dated thanks to the décor, and the mattress certainly wasn’t anything to write home about but for the price we paid I didn’t expect the Ritz. ||||The owner was very helpful with recommendations, he also managed to move things around so we could stay in the double room instead of the Twin and even did our washing for us (they only ask for a donation to the Samaritans). It’s these little things that make a place what it is and if I was in Ballycastle again I would...
