Extremely misleading listings and terrible maintenance issues. Zero concern for cleaning or repairs. All the moneys been spent on a street food area. We came here before when it opened as an OYO and it was great sadly no longer. Booked two Rooms a Double marketed as a Deluxe Seaview and a Standard Single. On the website these where shown to be modern rooms and the double actually having a double bed not twins put together. The standard single had water pouring from the roof anytime people above showered or used their taps. Mentioned this to staff and was told it wasn’t a concern as long as it wasn’t on the bed. The standard single had a 32 inch TV the deluxe had a broken 10inch. Which was weird. The single otherwise seemed to have been redone. So strange a basic room was much better than a premium one? The “deluxe room” had no working heating, broken lights, broken tiny TV, broken windows, holes in the wal, broken bathroom with broken floors and filthy shower. The bed was meant to be a double but was made up of a soiled single and another single shoved together, carpet is threadbare, so much damage in the common areas and a smell of a full grease trap throughout.

Very disappointed and won’t ever ever stay at this Hotel again. After paying nearly £300 for three nights room only no breakfast I feel ripped off! I wouldn’t have paid £20 a night at the most, the room and hotel was advertised as a budget hotel with standard amenities, I’ve stayed in various budget hotels and this was by far the worst, this was below budget standard. Room (23) was tired and looked as though it had not been painted for years if not decades, no remote for TV, crack in the wall, loose electrical sockets, dirty carpet etc The whole building was in a poor state and needs updating! I only stayed two nights out of the three! Only saving grace is it right on the sea front a road across from the beach! I attended the scooter rally and would have camped in a tent in the rain than stayed at this hotel. Very disappointed but you live and learn!

Not bad for the price and considering the covid problems ... Hand sanitized station at front of house . Booked room with sea veiw and got the side window I wouldn't class that as sea view. Could do with lick of paint. Radiator did work but the housekeeper brought us a plug-in heater which worked very well.. Bed base was ripped slightly maybe think about going round and checking the beds etc.. Plaster needs repairing in near the door that don't fit well ... But overall we did make the most of it I not really one for moaning and complaining this year has been tuff on businesses so we gave benifit of doubt.. May visit next year and see if any has changed Sandown is probs not the best place to visit lots of run down hotels empty bulidings I can only imagine that it was very busy town long time ago..

Never have I stayed at such a dirty disgusting place EVER, 11 of us arrived on Thursday for the bank holiday weekend as attending the National Scooter Rally until Monday ,upon arrival the desk was abandoned, one of our group was tx the codes for the doors ,we all proceeded to our rooms and after dropping off our luggage met in the bar area to gasps from each other about the state of each of our rooms ,not only had they NOT BEEN CLEANED ATALL,curtains were all almost hanging by a thread ,the nets were all yellow, cut and ripped ,dirty bed bases ,filthy carpets ,I had no kettle or even a chair to sit on ,rubbish thrown on top of wardrobe, rubbish behind the bed and litter still in the bin ,everything was in disrepair, bedside lamp not working and no light fitting in the bathroom, we were all disgusted, we carried on with our evening and the next day the manager requested full payment from us for the duration of our stay ,we handed over ,over £2.000 ,and I did question why the rooms hadn't been cleaned ,he assured me they had ,to which I stated AGAIN they hadn't he said the cleaners must just be going in and not doing their job ,surely it is the job of a manager to check this ,we did have clean sheets but the duvets needed the skip and so did the mattresses ,and we only had one hanger in one of the wardrobes for 11 people for 4 nights ,the tv was also water damaged and no remote either the view from my window was like a junk yard with all the disgarded and broken items from the rooms ,absolutely disgusting, some of the group have stayed before but said it now needs condemning as apparently being let out to asylum seekers ,NEVER WILL ANY OF US EVER COME BACK AND I HOPE ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH PAYS THEM A VISIT EXTREMELY ANGRY 😠 😡 and felt not only ripped off but extremely unclean for 5 days and have not stopped scratching my arms in since I returned last...

Just avoid. I’m quite tolerant of places and hotels but this shouldn’t be advertised as a hotel, it’s more of a hostel/halfway house.||On arrival there was no one at reception, after asking someone that appeared who worked there how do I check in to which she responded “it’s nothing to do with me” which quickly followed up with “hang on actually” she did manage to find someone to check me in. The bloke who checked me in was nice enough but I knew as soon as I got to the room there would be trouble, he apologised about one of the guests singing who had been singing for “2 days” at the top of his lungs in the room across from me (and was still singing! - awfully might I add).||When I got in the room it appeared bearable at first so I was fine with it but once I got in and settled I realised that it was actually filthy, thick dust everywhere including on ceiling fan which I almost turned on, I have allergies so they started flaring up. ||Again, as I said I’m normally quite tolerant and it was only for one night so I thought I’d put up with it, then I could smell weed! Someone was clearly smoking it in the building, and then the singing from the drunk guest started again and so I went downstairs to complain but there was nobody to complain to, I went outside and tried ringing the number left on reception multiple times but just got cut off every time, it didn’t even ring!. So I booked another hotel and left.||It appears after talking to the taxi driver about my experience that the council has a contract with this place and is used as a halfway house. Not for tourists the only good thing about it is the location. I wouldn’t...

I was looking forward to a week off work and time to relax , however that is far from what we got!

We arrived to which felt like a dirty, neglected and run down building with no one around to greet us on arrival, already bad service!

We eventually was greeted and given our room key, already not impressed. The state of the small cramped corridors not giving me much hope either.

Unfortunately the room only made things worse, it was more like an old dated bedsit than any type of hotel I can only describe the beds as pure springs ! AWFUL!!!

When informing the ‘staff’ they asked us to vacate our room as they were gonna get another room ready and to come back in an hour, when we returned our luggage was left unattended with again no one about.

I told the lady shorty after that this level of service is not acceptable after the money we had payed and that this is an unfair way to treat people.

She was extremely rude, telling me I shouldn’t complain as I didn’t book a 5star hotel , Thankyou for pointing out the obvious glad one of us did ! I’m surprised they have any stars as they are not running a hotel it’s more like a run hostel.

most importantly It’s a NOT SAFE accommodation as the walls are falling apart, careful if you turn the light fan on in the bedroom u might end up losing a limb or two.

We left after 1 night and returned back to London, cutting out holiday short by 6 days and got a full refund from booking.com

Sandown more like rundown! So much more I can put but I would have to literally write a book !

AVOID AT...
